Because it’s ludicrous to suggest this is the best this team can do. How can you say the fans accept mediocrity in one post and then say Conte’s doing all he can here?

The fans accept mediocrity by paying £60 a ticket and refraining from stringing Daniel Levy from a lamppost by his bollocks for the past 20 years.

And no manager is going to achieve sustained success - relative or otherwise - with these players.

None of this is news to you or anyone else.

We are a pathetic fanbase, addicted to underperformance and memediocrity.

That's nonsense. The fans have been getting behind the players. Paying a lot of money to watch negative tactics. That's on conte.

These players are better than the performances served up.

So, the fanbase is pathetic? Give it a rest.

Haven't we been saying that for years?

Its never fallen on Levy or the "board"
Before conte was appointed there were protests growing, until Porro was signed the fans were going to go ape shit, if conte goes and we have Mason until end of the season trust me all the reminding games will be anti levy chants, the momentum is building.

I didn’t see the game today, who do you think he is referring to?

I think they all care but isn’t he more saying they have weak mentality.

Well I’d say yes and no.

Some of them perhaps likes of Dier Davies etc maybe a bit ‘soft’ but then again I don’t think the last 3 managers style of management gets the most out of the types of characters we have in our squad, they need more of the arm round the shoulder and make them feel 100ft tall like a Jol Poch or Redknapp would do not the critical shouty negative approach of Conte Jose Nuno.
The players at spurs are comfortable in their situation, no real pressure or expectations on them to win anything and getting top four is seen as a win. That's the problem here. There is no real ambition to do better and in fact he is saying players are happy with the situation and don't want the pressure of expectation. This is very damning.

Do you go to games? It's almost like you are singling out people who put the effort in.

yea but if the 3 carpenters before you had also blamed the chisels, you might expect your boss to realise sooner rather than later, he needs to buy some new fucking chisels.
I agree but it’s not necessarily the chisels but also the wood. Regardless I’d have to make better furniture than the others to justify my salary. The wood hasn’t changed but in some respects the chisels have improved

Funny thing about this is the feeling towards Conte amongst the fan base and the board have probably switched following/during the press conference.

Levy will hate that conference and all the attention it will get in the media. Where as most of the fans are delighted he is saying what we are thinking.

A manager is calling out our rotten chairman, rotten club, and rotten culture.

Something we are ALL aware of.

Which - according to our fanbase on here - makes him the bad guy.

It is pathetic.

It's clear that there is more than one answer as to why are where we are. Conte ultimately has to pay the price but Levy is clearly obviously at fault too. The DNA comment alone is a metaphor for his obvious incapability of understanding what kind of philosophy he wants to follow at the club.

@Trix nailed it a few weeks ago. There is plenty of blame to go around - Conte, Players and Levy.

Conte will lose his job over his short-comings - but the players and Levy will carry on as normal.

I prefer the part in our recurrent cycle of failure when we hire a new manager and misguidedly think it will be different.

This bit is significantly less enjoyable. Having said that a manager effectively begging to be sacked is a first.

I just wonder what EXACTLY is the problem at spurs. We can say it’s levy; but what is it about levy ? What EXACTLY is it about the board? Do they micro manage the day to day business & get involved in decisions beyond their remit? Do they put managers under pressure to play certain players because of the financial outlay & agent pressure? Do they sign players as financial acquisitions that the coach or manager does not want or need?
Thanks Antonio for what you’ve brought - you’ve been Levied

Theyre not willing to be ruthless and lose money from doing seismic changes in order to win, they'd rather the cheaper option of pandering to the assets. So we do just enough to stay competitive but won't do what needs to be done to take the final few steps because we fear the financial risk more than we crave the football reward.

That is very true and I think that comes from the top, I think that is also what conte was inferring in his comments that the clubs owners are happy to trundle along keep getting top4 but no real ambition beyond that or at least no clear plan to achieve anything great than that even if levy does keep saying he wants us to win a trophy it’s just hot air really
