We live in a World of extremes.

However I don't like Conte and his way of playing the game, I also don't like his treatment of "Club signings"
He should remember he works for us and that his boy Perisic hasn't exactly pulled up many trees.

I actually quite like him as a person. It’s the rest that annoys me!

If conte stays and gets us top 4 I don't think we could say he has been a failure. Back to back 4th is impressive in this league

League Cup, Champions League... I'm pretty bitter about it all as most of you can probably tell 🤣
Yeah, I'm the same but it was the FA Cup that's really stuck in my craw because that's one I'd love to win and this should have been a fantastic chance to do so.
The CL is all about money but the FA is about history and glory.

I think you’d have to put it down as at most a qualified success and at worst a mitigated failure.

First season it was absolutely a success to take us from where we were and finish fourth. Second season, another fourth place finish with complete disappointment in all other competitions whilst actually regressing in our performances is not exactly a resounding success is it? If Conte was looking to stay and build on it, that would be one thing, but this is clearly the endgame for him at Spurs. It doesn’t feel like a win to me.

I'm not going to show patience to a man who won't commit and acts the way he does.

Little old tottenham finished top four long before he got here and have a better record in the champions League than him so he can shove his comments where the sun don't shine.

To the people saying "if Liverpool and Chelsea were playing better then they'd be 4th". Well, if we were playing better then we'd still be above them. It's all relative.

I'm not a fan of Conte's turgid football, but we are where we are by way of results.

Its all good that conte is beast when there is one game a week. So if he stays its ok if we suffer for 2/3 of next season and then rejoice again at the end?

Tbh the best outcome for everyone is he stays and get us top four and leaves in the summer.
Hopefully we use the time between now and then to study and recruit the right manager for the direction we want to go.

Now if results dramatically drop off in the league he may get fired but I can’t see it while we are in touch.

He looked like the Conte from last season as well kicking every ball from the touchline. The players will buy into that, and that he isn't just grinding his time out until he goes.
isn't this 3 or 4 days late? why conte of old was absent vs Milan?

I was gonna ask if Conte delivers top 4 again this season, and in fairness it would be an achievement considering the injury list this year, would you like to see him stay and have a proper go next season.

I honestly don't know. That FA and UCL exit seem harder to take this year. The squad probably looks/needs;

First Team

.......................New GK........
...............Romero..CB..LCB...................
Porro..Hojberg..Bentancur..Udioge
.........Richarlison..Kane..Son.................

Lloris..Dier..Davies..CB..Emerson..Perisic..
Regulion..Bissouma..Skipp..Sarr..Gil..
Kulusevski....WF..ST

integrate Young players

Austin..Spence..White.. Devine..NileJohn..Scarlett..Paskotsi..Parrott..Bell

Offload

LoCelso, Ndombele, Sanchez, Sessegnon, Rodon.

That not happening in summer and probably not the next 3 windows. 3 massive positions in defence and 2 proper backup players for Kane & Son if not Kane /Son replacements as well.

In my view we should not continue with conte beyond this season. It will be same next season with turgid football and bad attitude. They guy can't manage more than 1 game a week.

The problem is, we have a precedent. It was sacking Mourinho, we arguably have an easier path to 4th now then we did then but we sacked Jose either because we wanted to prioritise 4th or because of lower compensation

Yet despite this result its clear the best action is to remove Conte, who is suffering from health issues and isnt the best mood at the moment and it seems players other than today havent been enjoying the atmosphere or responding to the tactics

Now the major issue is who you bring in? Its disgraceful that we brought in Mason(btw didn't even have a UEFA PRO License) to manage us to fight for top 4 and League cup final. Had we not lost to Villa or Leeds, we would have finished 4th though that may never happened under Mourinho. But we probably would have got a trophy though.

Then the issue is who is the Director of Football? We have to wait a month to find out whether paratici will be found innocent or not FFS. So the new manager might not be the new DoF's guy

The next candidate imo opinion is available right now. Why dont you give him now until the end of the season to assess the squad but its unlikely to happen until the above resolved.

What can't happen is we wait till July and then try to get people in and we start preseason without a manager
We all know Conte is off at the end of the season and I agree with you that the earlier we bring in his replacement the better. And you’re right that I think there are managers available now that would be excellent for us. But I also think that the club need to take time on this appoint and not just appoint someone quickly out of desperation.

They need to think through exactly what the plan for the club is going forward and that includes the manager and the DoF. If the board decide on a manager target they are completely behind and he is willing to come now then great, we can and move on now. But it seems they are only just starting the process and don’t really know who to go for so we should the longer Conte stays (as long as he and the team are playing decent and picking up results) the better for us in the long term. We also have an international break coming up so that will be a good time to take stock.

Ultimately it’s imperative the board make the right decision and complete commit to that decision. They really have nowhere to hide anymore.

I really don’t think a win against a rather awful team makes any difference at this point. We still got knocked out of two cups by teams we should not have remotely struggled against. He very clearly wants to go back to Italy and I think the board have finally accepted this. I think the only thing that would maybe change that is if the team click and we go on a very convincing winning run between now and summer. But the chances of that are very low I think at this point even tho 1 game a week suits Conte best.

I think getting top 4 this season given the circumstances is actually very good going (injury list, Ventrone passing, Paraticci investigation, Conte's personal issues, Conte's surgery and missing games). When you look at what's gone on, it would be quite impressive to finish 4th.

Having said that, the story of this season will be those cup exits. One f*ck up could be explained and tolerated but going out on three occassions to inferior teams is inexcusable. The FA cup hurts in particular as it was an excellent chance to finally win something and we went out to a Champsionship team. I think that's what's really done it for fans with he style of football being the final nail in the coffin.

I'd still have Conte for what it's worth if he was 100% committed for the long haul....I think the truth of the matter is that he doesn't fancy it. He'll play it off as our choice (the club, the fans) but ultimately I think it is his decision not to conitnue.

Is it? I'm not saying we don't deserve to be where we are now; the table doesn't lie. But Liverpool and Chelsea are having their worst seasons in several years. Aside from Liverpool, our main rivals for fourth are teams that finished 9th and 11th last season, or around twenty points behind us. If either of the latter two does happen to bridge the gap of points that separated us from them last season, that would be a 'miracle'.

But the chances of that are very low I think at this point even tho 1 game a week suits Conte best.

A lot of the games are tightly packed together between now and the end of the season, so it won't be a full week prep all the time i.e:

Everton 3 Apr ; Brighton 8 Apr

Newcastle 23 Apr; Man U 27 Apr; Liverpool 30 Apr

It worked though, Richarlison played well and got a good assist, Son scored. Why do people twist the things he does right to have a go? It's pathetic
Pure unadulterated bias. They've made their minds up. Telling that's there's a few absent from posting today.
