This is what’s bothering me about him. They’re desperate to get rid and complain he loses the ball constantly. I know that a move / change of manager could change that but I’m not convinced. Feels like a punt and I don’t think we’re in a position to take any more of those.
Juventus fans were highly critical of Bentancur (who was pretty much ridiculed by the fanbase) and Kulusevski before they left.

German Kicker now reporting it.

Roma, who are fighting for the international places, will make a guest appearance at Spezia Calcio on Sunday (6 p.m.) - and will compete without Nicolo Zaniolo. The reason: the talented offensive man (23), who is only under contract until June 2024, asked for it. The Italian international could switch for 30 to 40 million euros this winter, and Tottenham, for example, are said to be interested. After suffering cruciate ligament ruptures in recent years, Zaniolo is no longer considered a top player in the Giallorossi and has recently been booed.

If you think about it, he's exactly what this team needs: An offensive player with two half-knees, limited intelligence on the ball, and hardly any actual offensive output. Really would be brilliant use of £35m.

Well at least he’s used to to being boo’d

But what do you really think?

A big problem is that we have decided to put the money on the table now rather than the summer and basically made Cobte’s job much harder in order to save a few million

30-40m euro for an attacking player with terrible stats. He has 1 goal 0 assists in 13 games (in the league). With that output his ball carrying abilty must be out of this world for this to be worth it.

Reading this thread just shows that some people have learnt nothing from the signings of Bentancur and Kulusevski, neither of whom were seen as being much cop by probably the same people (particularly Bentancur). Maybe, just maybe Conte and Paratici know more about this than we do? Just saying.

Tbf it’s a forum, be a bit quiet if people agreed with everything. I’m actually grand with us getting Zaniolo, but those people could quite easily argue that for every Deki, there’s an Emerson that we’re trying to replace already or for every Bentancur, there’s a Bissouma/Richarlison that can’t get in the team. All just opinions really, some transfer work, some don’t, what we think doesn’t truly matter.

I think it’s certainly valid to ask the question, why another attacking mid for 30-40mil? we have the 3rd best attack and 15th best defence in the league.

Yeah it’s not like they get paid millions because they’re actually pretty good at it.

I've watched a lot of Zaniolo in Italy and I'm severely underwhelmed. He hasn't lived up to his early promise so far, partly due to injuries. If people are expecting a player who'll get them off their feet I think they'll be disappointed.

Personally I feel we need a more creative mid than a ball carrier.

BUT if he's Conte's first choice then I back the club and Zaniolo 100%. And I'll probably be reminded of why Conte's the manager and not me lol.
I know we keep harping on about this, but the Juve fans were willing to drive Decki to London, how did that work out?
I get your point but that situation has nothing whatsoever to do with this one. They're different players and fans.

Sometimes fans will want a player gone and be wrong; sometimes they will be right.

And I imagine not all fans of a club feel identically about any given situation.
