Tonight for me was naivety. I thought we got in some good positions but couldn't hit the target.

But we were naive to the fact that they want free kicks in our half that they can get in the box. To often we fouled giving them the opportunity to do what they're good at. Like for their goal.

This is Spurs. We've never been much different and I'm not really surprised. Hope any of you that have gone have a safe journey home.

Lot of anger here, and I’m not feeling it. I was so pissed off after the Southampton and Wolves games with how we played but this want like that, for me. Or maybe I just went into it with lower expectations. Didn’t feel we deserved to lose.
Nailed it. Saints and Wolves games causing all this crying.

I think it’s mostly frustration at our same old struggles against park the bus teams. It would be nice to see more development in this regard. Having watched that I don’t really see much difference from a performance against similar opponent from last season for example. Essentially, as I already mentioned, it’s just a sign of how much work we still need to do which we all know and as we have been told, next season is when things get serious.
It has been glaringly obvious that we are severely lacking quality in central midfield and at wing back. Until this is fixed we will always have nights like tonight.

I just feel so frustrated with timid players like Sess, Emerson, Winks and sometimes Davies. Even Son is guilty of such.

But mainly these defensive players are so safe and reserved. No forward or risky pass, playing it so safe but invited pressure nonetheless. The lack of intelligence is appalling in Emerson especially.

I don't know how Sess will ever be confident. Playing like a kid everytime after so long. There's a reason he can never make it to the senior international team. He plays like a junior.

Winks so disappointingly pathetic after the windows closed. Always the same old same old. Is he a fucking defensive player or what. Why is he sitting so deep and stagnant. I always have a feeling Hojbjerg has no idea how to move with him alongside. With Bentacur, only 3 games and they got the understanding sorted. Winks forever leave his partner stranded.

Just fucking sell Winks, Emerson and Sess. So done seeing them play.
So agree about the timidity. Look at Liverpools young backs when they broke through. Not scared, demanding the ball and going for goal

I think its important to remember that this is a team who had a week to prepare for the City game.

A team who play a high line and leave spaces.

We've had almost zero prep for this game, against a team who play a totally different way.

All you can do for games like today is make slight tactical adjustments. But that's where Conte has his hands tied cause our options are limited. Ideally you want a more attacking wing back and take Hojbjerg out for someone who can carry the ball, we don't have that right now.

It's a shame we had so many games called off because I think playing every 3 or 4 days is going to stretch our limitations.

I think United will get top4 now.

To be honest, I don't really care. As long as the summer goes exactly to plan and Conte's liking then I'll be happy.

I felt so ready to sell Kane last summer to reinvest in the squad, but now the thought absolutely petrifies me. We wouldn't create anything without his passing or finishing.

Well, that makes 4th very difficult…..

From the outset, it looked like one moment would decide the match. Romero sleeping during a set piece is inexcusable, considering that would have drilled home by Conte.

Hope Bentacour is okay as I can’t stomach seeing Winks against Leeds.

Wingbacks…. yuck. Both Sessegnon and Emerson are solid defenders but they pose no offensive threat whatsoever.

On our day, we can beat anyone in the league. However, those days are few and far between.

Kane and Conte gone in the summer?

People may laugh, but that could genuinely happen.

If Conte goes in the summer then it reflects badly on him no one else. At this stage anyway...

Don't believe he'll go but the number of people throwing this at the club as if the results h's overseeing are somehow their fault when he knew what he was walking into and got what he wanted in January (ie: getting rid of most of our midfield) then... I just don't get that.

Of course if he doesn't get the targets he names for summer that's an entirely different story.

Very predictable, tough away game up North in shitty weather conditions.

If you don't have any quality in deeper positions then you are always going to find it hard breaking teams down.

We were the better team 2nd half until they sucker punched us. If Romero didn't let Mee get over him we come away with a respectable point. Kane went awol the last 20 mins.

The over reaction is pathetic, as usual.
Unfortunately you don’t get any points for being the better team in the 2nd half

Burnley won all the 50/50s. When the ball was loose they always came out with the ball. They bought themselves free kicks near the touch line all game so that they could swing the ball into the area and it worked a treat. Sess did not control the ball properly once in the whole game. He has the first touch of someone playing scared.
Most of what you said isn't correct. Sess wasn't the issue today. We fought and competed perfectly well, had the lion's share of possession and attempts on goal. We lost because of Romero's mistake and a tepid first half.

Kane is reportedly waiting until the summer to make his decision on a new contract and Conte may have had enough by the end of the season.

How is it that much out of the realm of possibility?
Kane will still have two years left on his deal in the summer, it's not up to him. Who knows with Conte? I just can't envision him taking the job in the first place not knowing the state of the squad. His future will probably depend on how much backing he gets in the summer.

I'm actually confused at people thinking being angry about that performance, let alone result, is an overreaction - especially coupled with our recent abject form.

It was just a typical game against Burnley/Stoke on a soaking wet night away.

Even our best teams in our best seasons over the last ten years have struggled on such occasions. People shouldn’t pin their hopes on single games like this, and I don’t think it’s indicative of where our team is at right now.

This was entirely expected and anyone who thought otherwise, and is now outraged as a result hasn’t been paying attention to Spurs or Football as a whole over the last few decades.

Spursy at it's finest let the banter reign on us again! When I saw Winks on for 2nd half sensed doom! God knows what Sessegnon was doing with that challenge on Lennon. From that a bread and butter set peice played right into their hands. The conditions were perfect for them and as usual we crumbled. Got to hand it to Burnley they look like they have all the qualities to survive. Weghorst what a signing and at £12 mill a snip.

For us one step forward and several back tonight FA Cup the glimmer of light as for CL that light has been extinguished tonight.

Sessegnon probably ranks no1 for the most cowardice, that a PL player can show.

The boy is petrified - fucking useless.
How many years are we going to say, he needs a run in side or he needs confidence...

If he cant be self-confident after Man City game, he will never be.

I want him gone - first player in squad to be booted out in summer . Dont need players who wont even try.

All game, he did absolutely nothing other than to go back or sideways. He made Connor Roberts look like Cafu.
