Emerson’s energy is fantastic. Thought it was bizarre that the Tifo football people were questioning whether he’d suit Conte, think it’s safe to say he’s provided the answer tonight.
I do love the takes of them sometimes. Good articles but cmon let’s not pretend your an elite coach who knows what an elite coach wants. Conte wanted Royal at inter. There’s a reason.

He has a lot of work to do, especially around game management. At 3-0, we shouldve slowed the game down. Instead we gave away 2 cheap goals quickly, which galvanised vitesse.

They put us under a lot of pressure, but I thought we defended well in the 2nd half. Conte's subs were spot on. Probably saved us the 3 points.

Let's be honest it's shocking preparation for Sunday. Recovery wise.

I thought Sanchez put in a really good shift - tough and aggressive.
After that horror injury he didn't hide, challenged for every ball.

ON a side note, if people didnt think Royal went to the floor at every chance, they clearly didn't watch the game.

I can't remember ever actually genuinely enjoying a Thursday night game we've had before tonight.

Players actually trying made Kane's lack of application all the more noticeable I thought. On Irish TV commentary his body language was being mentioned a lot by the co-commentator.

For fucks sake - Bt still haven’t shown our goals. I didn’t see the first half but I’ve seen replays of everything good Vitesse did and none that we did

My point is - the object on defense is to keep the ball out of the net. We did that. Everything else is noise.

Did we tire? Sure. But, the players always did enough to keep them out. Credit the players, imo.
Well Kudos for stating the obvious - but crediting the players for keeping them out when we had 10, doesn't balance out being 3 up and letting them back into the game, ironically down to poor defending. I'd credit Hugo for making match-saving saves, but that's as far as it goes.

Emerson is Brazilian - that's what they do!

He has done that all season - but its also why you could see he has more of an attacker's mentality, that will play well as a WB for Conte.

In the PL it will go against him, he will fain injury, ref will say play on and he will look a wally, needs to tone it down.

unfortunately will have to take the full first team/ squad out to Mura. Not ideal.
It's not, but if we finish second then we're going to have to take the first team to an away leg in the extra round anyway. We've got to go strong in a midweek match whatever happens. Rather it be against Mura (where, lets be honest, we should comfortably win 8-5) than (eg) Fenerbahce, or Marseille in the R32.

We need 5 or 6 new players, but what a fantastic start
A fantastic start? Seriously!? Don't get me wrong this has nowt to do with Conte, but we were lucky there to nick all 3pts. They could have had a pen, Hugo making some class saves. We certainly do need a host of new talent - let's hope the Newcastle player recruitment is as bad as their manager recruitment policy as we'll be hoping they'll be wanting some of our shit.
