Tight game but credit where it’s due and regardless of whatever the result ends up our tactics have been bang on today.

Our front 3 have pressed their back 3 whilst shutting off the pass into Jorginiho which has ended up outnumbering them in the middle and leaving their front 3 isolated whilst pushing them back to a back 5.

As I’ve said before Nunos tactics often actually suit playing against the top teams as he’s always got good results against them but today it’s not just been a sit back and counter, we’ve taken the game to Chelsea which is a slight surprise to me and a good sign.

They’re champions of Europe and so well coached and very hard to play through so the way we’ve played so far has been impressive I have to say, bodes well if we can keep this XI fit and keep taking the game to whoever we play.

They are the best team in Europe and we were able to at least match them, no complains after the game no matter the result.

We've been in the game the whole way except for that 10 mins period where we switched off. And now we don't have the bench to change the game

as someone who’s been very negative about nuno, amidst all the negativity that is bound to come, i am far more enthused about the team.

they’re european champions for a reason. we took the game to them for the entirety of the first half, and they were able to bring one of the best midfielders of all time off the bench. we brought on oliver skipp. that’s not Nuno’s fault. that’s the reality of the situation.

the team put out today will win most games it plays in this season. a crazy 10 minutes where kante changed the game and we were trying to adapt is what killed us. i am more than willing to give nuno time if i see more of what we saw today (minus that 10 minutes).

Yep. Games vs these top top teams you can’t switch off for a minute never mind 10.

It’s Chelsea and no one creates many chances against them so context in this match is key and we played fairly well 1st half.

However the lack of chances created and goals scored over the whole season so far is still a worry, partly because we lack some players of attacking and goal scoring quality and partly due to the tactics of Nuno as previously mentioned and his lack of ability to coach a possession based attacking side.

Some positive signs 1st half and open to see if we play with that same line-up against lesser opposition if we can score a good few goals but still worrying signs remain.

Agree that we lack the bench to change the game and that is on Levy and others involved for letting the squad get to this point with no strikers we can bring on and no Bale replacement etc.

Well my mindset hasn't changed, this was always going to be a tough match and especially as it's not a lineup we've really played with. Yes the start of the second half wasn't good but really we've still only been undone by a corner and incredibly lucky deflection. Keep playing like this and I think we'll see a bit of success. We won't be playing the European champions (?) every week.

Just have to keep playing positively, in how we perform on the pitch and in selection. Hopefully this won't put Nuno off from continuing as such.

Being on a cheap 2 year deal, if we’re languishing around mid table in November he’ll be gone.

Feel sorry for him though as the squad really isn’t up to it - bar a few exceptions.

It'll be the defeat this time next week that will up the pressure on him hugely.

It does sound ridiculous but , after the summer, fans were always gonna go in early if things didn't click.

1 goal from open play and you’re blaming that on Kane?
Yes, he's playing at half speed. It's visible. He's been playing at half speed since he got back into the team.
Last season, everytime he got the ball he'd turn and look for Son. This season he's miscontrolled the ball, he doesn't turn fast enough, even when the pass is on he doesn't release it

EDIT. I'll add that our fullbacks have not been up to par

Edit 2. Just when I post that Reguilon loses his on a cut back and we concede a third.

Why do our fullbacks not attack when we have the ball up the pitch? Why do they always turn back

all of this being said, you can NOT lose 0-3 to fucking chelsea at home. you just can’t. that’s not acceptable.

Sack him now. The man is a fucking clown. Yet another horrendous decision by the people who are running this club. They’re killing us. In 2 years, we’ve regressed to the Martin Jol era. Except our coach is dull and plays shit football.

That's on Kane in my opinion
We should’ve sold him, wish city had bid what we wanted. I said at the time keeping him around was a terrible idea and would have a bad effect on the squad.

We are a real mess. It’s certainly not all Nuno’s fault, the squad isn’t good enough but at the same time we are creating absolutely fuck all chances game after game and it’s worrying.

This is on Levy for letting the squad get like this and then signing off on Jose and Nuno.
