I'm literally guessing at this but surely the likes of Amazon and Nike will be on board once the stadium becomes commercially viable again. It would be throwing any moral 'fibre' this club had left directly in the gutter, and there isn't a lot left in modern football. Getting into bed with a state linked to funding terrorism, an abhorrent humans rights record and effectively operating with impunity when it comes to international law, would be hard to stomach.
I'm saying this consciously aware of the 'Western' critique of the Middle East and the ignorance sometimes laden in that of our own atrocities but this would definitely be a potential deal breaker for a number of our supporters.
The local Newcastle paper has been banging the drum for the Saudi takeover ever since it got shelved. They are desperate to see Ashley gone.

We were linked with both a year ago. I'd say that regardless of trophies, I can see why they'd want to be associated with the new stadium.why though? They want to be associated with winners and we haven’t won anything. Come back in a few weeks time after we have the Caring Cup in the trophy room.
Subjective. I think that football and in particular their clubs are so important to a lot of people that they are willing to overlook a fair amount.leser of two evils innit?
He's a Saudi minister.Sorry what’s the moral link between a Saudi citizen and their government? Am I being naive or missing something?
Stadium, Premier League club, convention Centre, Exhibition centre, ESports venue and NFL field possibly (probably) all makes it quite an attractive proposition I'd imagine.why though? Sounds perfect for the Toffees! ??Stadium, Premier League club, convention Centre, Exhibition centre, ESports venue and NFL field possibly (probably) all makes it quite an attractive proposition I'd imagine.
Not easy to admit but we may not be the main draw on our own.
Whilst I agree with you, the ironic thing is it will be you who keeps your money. Don't think you will have a lot of say. Please not the Saudis. I don't want anything to do with them, IMO they aren't fit to own any Prem club. Terrible regime with a terrible human rights record. You can keep your filthy money thanks.
That is true.Whilst I agree with you, the ironic thing is it will be you who keeps your money. Don't think you will have a lot of say.
Money/ success. We hired Mourinho at 15 million a year for the same reasons. If the fans make enough noise on social media it might sway Levy, he'd be helped by no fans in the stadium complaining. Although I wonder how many would be fine with taking their money if it brings success. Personally I would rather stay were we are than be associated with them but be a Chelsea or City.
I used to care but I don’t anymore. Life is too short and spurs have disappointed me too often to be picky where our money comes from.
