Wouldn't be surprised to see us go for Josh King rather than Wilson. With them relegated and him in the last year of his contract, I can see all over it as an option to cover Kane.

We’ve looked at King before from recollection. It was laughed at at the time.

At that time we were contenders for the League and CL regulars. Not any more.
Surely the aim is to get back there?
You could argue that not signing him(or players of his ilk) is part of the reason we have fallen away

During our injury crisis in Jan/feb, we’d have been happy to have King/Wilson /anyone

Absolutely. We wouldn't be in the mess we are now if we'd invested in the squad and built on the foundations we'd put down. 18 months of 'no spend' hurt us so badly that we now require revolution when we could have grown with evolution. It's going to be a hard slog to climb back up again, and as far as I'm aware, the teams that have managed to do it have spent fortunes in doing so, or had to cash in their prize assets to get the required funds.

Josh King wound be very clever but have we been linked?

I feel he’d be more like than Wilson to perform with limited minutes, and would also be a more like partner for Kane due to his physicality and work rate.

I don’t think King would be interested anyway. He’s a national team player, doubt he’ll settle for being a squad player.

But he’s not exactly a top level international for a top level nation. He’s currently at Bournemouth. If he has aspirations to play for a club that might challenge for silverware, he knows full well that that might mean having to accept being a squad player rather than an automatic starter. So I doubt he’d have a moment’s hesitation in joining us if we were to agree a deal with Bournemouth. Playing fewer games but for a far higher profile club in Spurs (especially in Norway) isn’t going to hurt his national team chances.

However, he will have other suitors. We certainly wouldn’t get a free run at him.

I think King will go back to Man Utd as Ole was very keen before and the deal will now be a lot cheaper and easier than it was in January.

Interesting article here from ES. Didn't Dan accurately state all of our transfer targets last summer as well? Could be 2 from Bournemouth if he's right again this year.

That would be exceptional business if we got those four.

However I imagine Danny Rose will screw it up.

Yes he was ... Interesting no right back !!

It mentions a right-back in the full piece, Castagne from Atalanta is pointed out specifically. Imagine it'll be him and Tanganga at RB if we sell Aurier. What's more interesting is no left-back is mentioned; presume Cirkin will be promoted to back-up left-back?

We are not going to sign left back this summer. There was no rumor about any left back for the last six months. Looks like we have cooled our interest in max aarons. So it is castagne if aurier leaves and tanganga as back up. Castagne can also play as left back.

Wilson is an excellent striker. I hope this is a legit interest because I really believe Kane would easily be able to play with a partner under Mourinho and benefit from it massively so signing the best possible striker we can would be a great idea, Wilson is the best striker we could possibly sign.

Worked for Solskjaer back in the day. A regular for Norway, whilst warming the bench at Manure.

If we want a backup striker then I'd say he's a good option if we can agree to his wages.

He has a bit of quality about him but has had a few injuries. Could be a sensible signing.
