He's certainly suited more to coming in at 320-5 than 120-5, but it's difficult to know which it's likely to be when the team is picked!

He has tried the traditional test way and it’s not really working for him, just hope he tries to play his way

Did well to drag that back after the start SA got, but 178 will wake some getting. Well bowled the spin twins.

also the standard of umpiring (and tv umpiring) has been poor in SA.

there was no difference between the stokes no-ball and the hendricks one.

We should have won that. poor start with the ball. brainless end with the bat. but our death bowling was brilliant, and out batting in overs 1-12 was great.

i don’t understand the selection of Denly in this side, but hey-ho.

I’d much rather have Buttler down at 5 or 6 finishing a game instead of Denly.

We have Banton, Malan, Vince, Hales all of whom could do 1-3 with Roy and Bairstow.

Me too, but he opened brilliantly in the Big Bash last year which I think is why he was tried there. Not an experiment I'd continue cos we need someone other than Stokes in the middle order. (I don't think they've quite forgiven Hales yet.)

Don't know how we lost that in the end. Morgan did so well getting us back in to it, then for some reason went for another big shot needing just 7 from 7. Hard to knock him, after his innings, but it was a poor decision that cost us.

i don’t blame Morgan so much. he was hitting it well, and the ball was there to be hit.

but with 7 needed from 6 we had at least two new batters in who thought they could win it win it with one hit on a pitch that was difficult to come in on. only rashid had the sense to try and nudge, but by then the odds were stacked against him.

all a learning curve though. i just hope we don’t see Denly in the world cup.

Strange decisions playing Denly let alone letting him have a hit before stokes. Alli has completely lost it as a batsman

He did get us over the line in the last match, (4 days ago, 17 n.o. with 3 boundaries) as wickets fell at the other end.

Can’t get my head around this English batting line up for the T20s.
Not sure why Denly is in at the expense of Malan who has an amazing T20 record?
I would have
Bairstow
Roy
Malan
Morgan
Stokes
Buttler

Buttler to be used as a floating finisher

same. and you could have Banton/Vince/Hales/Salt for Malan too. some of Buttlers best innings have come when he’s moved up to 4 if we get off to a flyer.

its a very odd team. and the bowling looks suspect to me, you never know which Tom Curran will turn up.
