Hate to be the one that says it, but it's been one match, and yes I get that we looked fluid, but this was against a team that was really poor. We have a right to be optimistic, but we should be cautious too. It wasn't that long ago we were saying how good we looked against Palace and look what happened after.
Just let us have this one

To be honest we were very unlucky against Leicester. Had Son's goal stood this would have kick started our season.

First 30 mins today is the most like spurs of old we’ve looked in over a year :) surprise surprise back to 4-2-3-1 and not starting any players who want to leave(erisken, Toby, rose) apart from aurier who was indifferent anyway.

To be fair the first 25 vs BM were also pretty bloody good.

By that token then you can offer the same to Southampton & Watford, where you could easily argue that we were lucky to avoid defeat in those games. For the record, I prefer to deal in reality not if's and but's.

We played well against Leicester, beat Southampton.... Scored two against Olympiacos, Got all the way to penalties against Colchester and had 30 great minutes vs Bayern.... Dunno what you're talking about mate. Its all optimism from here on

This hasn’t really done any favours for Poch tbh. He has to keep the shithouses out of the squad and let this group get going. Completely voided the already ridiculous notion that all of our squad turned to shit in a few months

I refer you to your display picture.

But in all seriousness, clearly winning 5-0 and the players putting in a performance like that has done him favours. If the team lost tonight then its highly likely there was no coming back from it. Hes seen a team show willingness to work hard and hes been able to see removing certain players has improved things.

As others have said, back to a set up that worked in the past, taking out the want away players...and all of a sudden we've a team that knows what they're doing and putting in the effort.

Off the ball movement was back, and it's been absent for so long.

Opposition were awful but this is a step forward.

Now will he pick the same side against Liverpool?

I certainly hope so.

One must remember the EPL is a lot faster, and our players may not feel that comfortable stringing passes together.

If he does change team and goes back to a double pivot diamond monstrosity with Eriksen and Tony anywhere near team I will run up to the ground, evade security and nut him lol.

Hopefully we’ll look to prioritise a quality holding midfielder or maybe give Skip some opportunities alongside Ndombele.

Not a big fan of Dier then?

I was but he’s regressed and whilst would still like him as an option, I think if we really want to push on we need a top top defensive midfielder.

Although would be nice to be proven wrong and he come back into side and form.

Tonight is a step in the right direction, but it hasn't changed my concerns. We need a big performance against Liverpool, we cannot go there and lose.

If we go on a run of consecutive wins, then I'll start believing it'll all be okay with Poch...

I think quality wise he is one of the best there is when on form. Obviously that is some time ago, as you say..... And not if he is to cover every blade of grass in our half at the bottom of the diamond....

We’ve played a load of shit teams and looked shit. Quality of the opposition means nothing tonight. We still had to go out and be professional and for the first time in a while we did. That’s the positive.

I agree, more the case of if the Leicester result had gone well, this might have spurred us on to turn things around earlier.

Well done Poch! You deserve all the credit for selection, tactics. Letting TN for example play his Lyon position. Dropping CE, Toby, and Danny. No diamond, but interplay with aggressive forwards. I know it was only RSB, who are a shit team. But! So was Watford ?

Or if the Leicester result went well, Poch would have continued using the horrible diamond formation...
