Right office scenario.....

Boss comes in and says "despite record sales over the last 3 years I've worked out how to increase them again. I want everyone now to start using your mouse with the opposite hand and turn your keyboard around so it's facing away from you."

Three months later when sales have dropped he comes in and says.

"Right I know how to fix it every day when you come in I'll put you at someone else's desk and do the job of whoever was previously sat there. That'll fix it."

I know that's an over exaggeration but it's the gist of what's happened and continues to do so.

Are you saying that Poch is trying for some sort of free flowing formation where all the players are capable of playing in multiple roles?

To me, it has looked like that on the pitch at times with half of them second guessing where they should be, who they should be marking and players all over the place on the transition.

Gotta stop revisiting this thread. Argentinian Harry Redknapp.

If you can't see how well coached we've generally been and can't identify clear tactical patterns the team has been operating under, as well as numerous successful tactical tweaks where he's bested some of the top managers in this game, then guess what?

It's because you've not been able to understand what you've been seeing.

£30m+ reasons why not

As many others have said, though, missing out on CL seems a dead cert with Poch at the helm.

Playing like we are, I can't see us scraping Europa.

Salvaging the season is worth more than £30m, and that's without mentioning the knock-on effect of being able to attract top managers and players.

And tell us, enlightened one, what is your understanding of the utter dross we've witnessed for much of the past 18 months?

So for the past year or so I've not been seeing a complete and utter mess of a team, and we have actually been beating the likes of Brighton and Watford with magnificent displays of tactical genius from the manager?

That's a relief then, thanks for putting me right. Appreciate it.

Isn't this the fundamental point? We can't actually see a visible ethos of the team nor Poch's stamp of high press for some considerable time now.

This project has run its natural course.

Totally agree, about 18 months ago. It would be quite nice to see us go back to what brought us to the dance, not whatever it is we are trying to do currently.

Win percentage up to Feb this year 63

Since Feb win percentage 23
Shocking. Managers have been sacked for more. 23 percent is relegation form. If the season started in Feb we would be relegated. For a club our size that doesn't bear thinking about.

I really wish we stayed at WHL for one more season. After 2016/17 things were so promising (86 points, most goals scored, fewest goals conceded, only lost 4 times, unbeaten at WHL). Leaving at that stage was like having the rug pulled from under you. Maybe in ten years we'll be reaping the rewards of self-imposed handicapping but that really threw a spanner in the works of the Poch project which up to that point was improving as time went by.

Fucking hell, it was 10 months this morning, now its 18!

Where will this revisionism stop? I suppose that Ryan Mason goal against Forest was pretty good, but otherwise what a load of old shite, eh?

Not quite. Based on the last couple of seasons we'd be about 14th/ 15th- safely 3 or 4 places away from the relegation zone.

Thankfully it doesn't though, does it?

Out of interest, what is the point at which you'll accept Pochettino is done, and is never turning this around?

What's the cruddery threshold for you?

Because it sounds very much like only 1 convincing win in 12 games isn't close to doing it for you.

For comparison, our form for the last 10 games of last season was: WLLWLLLWDL - so that's 6 wins from 22 games, with 11 losses.

If we're honest the cracks started to show at the start of last season, we had a fantastic start in terms of points but we weren't dominating games like we used to, felt like we were riding our luck a bit. A 50% Dembele probably the difference at times. I'd hoped it was WC fatigue and Wembley disappointment, but its gotten worse this season.

Since the turn of the year is certainly when things really started to go south that's for sure.
