I have to say that I do. I know he can be a bit 'different' sometimes with his thinking and even maybe underlying agendas, and maybe it's because I want to believe it, but I've got no reason not to.
Said it before, loved Poch and hate all this, but I honestly think he's as much to do with the problem with Enic.
Enic and Levy are not faultless. They've caught up to an extent with wages etc., but are always playing catch-up on the field with player recruitment and contracts, they could do better also, but I do think this immediate situation we are in sits firmly on Poch's doorstep.
I would honestly look forward to the day I have to come on here with my tail between my legs and say 'I was completely wrong about Poch and I was an idiot for being so short-sighted', I would happily do so, so please earmark this post if and when it happens. Nothing would make me happier than to see that future. I just can't right now.
Funny that we all want to take a chance on the next best thing in players, before they get too expensive for us, but we don’t want to take that approach with managers. Is it because he’s English?.
Personally, I am going to put some money on Eddie Howe as the next Spurs manager . May even do it now if the odds are decent enough.
Any chance you could show your working on this one? There would be literally no point in going for Howe or similar. The reason for sacking Poch would be underachievement with the tools at his disposal - a squad that is plenty good enough to finish in the top 4 and win trophies - there's no reason to believe Howe would achieve those things. We're a totally different club to the one Poch took over and the only option for us now is a proven "difference maker", especially given the things Levy has said in recent interviews. My money's on Mourinho.Sadly I think I agree. Once players start looking like they’ve lost belief and hunger and the manager is publicly saying the dressing room has “different agendas” etc then I can’t think of many instances ( either at Spurs or other clubs) where the situation has been turned round.
The sad thing is, even though I had hope, I’d always had the feeling in the back of my mind that once we’d missed the opportunities to win trophies in the last few years that it would go down as the ones that got away and this team would break up with nothing to show for it. And it’s proven to be so, with the CL final the last hurrah.
Poch probably saw the same thing which might explain some of his comments, but the problem is we can’t just rip everything up and go backwards. Dropping out of the top four and probably top 6 at this rate will make rebuilding even harder.
The whole thing is a lose/lose situation for us because all the talk of Allegri/Jose/Ancelotti etc is imo going to leave people very disappointed. Top managers with proven pedigree will all want to spend money and they will not want committees, being clever in the market etc. Doesn’t matter how good our squad is on paper, managers have different ideas and want certain types of players.
The only manager with a winning pedigree I could possibly see joining us is Benitez ( who I actually wanted before we got Poch), as anything after Ashley would seem like a fairytale . Even he though ended up leaving Liverpool when he thought the board were interfering too much.

Have you actually been looking at our form over the past year? This mess isn't something that has just reared its head now. Poch has one system or style of play. His reading and understanding of the game isn't good at all.We tried about 4 different formations in that game. Difficult to execute any sort if game plan when the players seem so unwilling to actually play and get the absolute basics wrong
Can't have sympathy for Poch with this, he knew exactly how Levy operates when he joined the club.
He's done a great job. My one worry would be that he struggled when he got the Burnley gig so it may that he operates most effectively within the conditions at Bournemouth.Funny that we all want to take a chance on the next best thing in players, before they get too expensive for us, but we don’t want to take that approach with managers. Is it because he’s English?
Grealish would have been the unpopular "Levy signing" - if we'd paid the £35m(?) that Villa demanded there would have been a standard SC meltdown.well if Hoddle is right that Poch didnt want anybody I dont know why we tried so hard to sign Grealish and few others that summer.
TBH, that’s a risk we take with players, coaches, scouts and everyone else. If we won’t take the risk, we can’t expect the rewards. I have no idea whether Howe will make it or not, but Audere Est Facere, innit? He's done a great job. I imagine we'd have been hearing about it a long time ago if we hadn't reached the CL final. They aren't slagging Poch off, they are passing on what their players are saying is happening/being said. In my case anyway.
People have to remember this isn't something that's just happened it's been building and picking up pace for a long time.
The players are low on confidence and have a lack of belief in what they are being asked to do. This brings doubt on the pitch and it's impossible to play like a coherent team.
Depends why though - a Max/Mou might significantly alter that thinking
Love him, and just when I feel like I want him to go, I see him do a press conference and I can't bring myself to actually want it. I might say it, but the truth is I want him to succeed.
Unfortunately now its just a case of keeping a dying puppy alive. It's over. The facts are that we have excellent players. Hence why the next 2 weeks will be spent flying around the world representing their national teams.
But Poch isn't getting a tune out of them and we can't afford to continue to carry him. It'll cost a bomb so it won't happen, but he needs to put out if his misery.
You’re telling me Foyth or Sanchez wouldn’t have done better than Jan or Toby today? Or Dele or Lucas wouldn’t have done better than Eriksen?
No it's because he's massively overrated as a manager, tactically inept & can't organise s team defensivelyFunny that we all want to take a chance on the next best thing in players, before they get too expensive for us, but we don’t want to take that approach with managers.
