I think a lot of people are annoyed that it’s dragging to the last week of the window ( again ). I was naively hoping that we’d finally do things differently and give these new signings a proper pre season like Poch wants.

i think hes saying we have the money for lo celso, need eriksen to go if we want dybala (maybe sess depends on rose going)

I can't imagine that sess would be dependant on Rose going. I don't think we would have done all the leg work to not follow through.

Dybala we would be interested I'm sure but that's obviously come out of the blue and only the sale of Eriksen would allow us to finance that with Lo Celso already coming in.

That I agree with... Looked like our business would get done early at the start of the window and things have dragged a bit, but I'm still not overly worried. Bit concerned about our wingback situation though

edmonton: I did warn over a week ago that nothing was happening immediately. I could see something towards the end of next week.

Same every single year! We get so much good news to start, then it starts drying up... and we’re left short again.

The man at the top is the same person that has been around for a while - a leopard doesn’t change his spots. It is why I don’t get either too excited or too despondent with ITK news. There are so many contradictions that eventually some will be right and some wrong. We have just under two weeks and then we will see where we are.

Wouldn't it be nice with some ITK right now with an update on who we are actually going for...I can't believe we would be going for all three Bale, Lo Celso and Dybala especially if Eriksen isn't leaving. Tired of seeing people commenting on random rumors that popped up on Twitter...

We done our main target. ITK are still positive, if delay from Sess and GLC announcement is because we are trying to buy Dybala it's also good. And none of them would be available for the Asian tour etc, it seems now that we can only buy better player or spent less.

If Betis is to "greedy" then move targets and let em sit with him and Fekir, who their coach said they can't afford, instead of putting the blame on Betis...

Always someone elses fault

Exactly this, we spend so much time expecting teams to lower their demands to us, and why should they? They have a value for a player, if we don’t want to meet it, move on!

dragon1 added to the conversation:
yes dybala will not happen without outgoings
No one can be surprised or enraged by this. We just don’t have that wealth.

Dybala being potentially available might have changed a few things and while this new dynamic recalibrates our course of action, our original schedule shifts in line with this

i agree but signing a player is not like going to a supermarket, picking something off the shelf and going to till. Its not just down to us, there are many variables, i still believe come the end of the window it will be all good. Signing Tanguy was huge, betis are dragging with lo celso but I believe it will still happen and dont forget hes been at the copa so wouldnt join squad yet anyway

Ndombele was our number 1 and we got him in for preseason for me that was most important, Sessegnon had the U21 tournament and then got injured and Lo Celso had the South American tournament, both players were likely to miss preseason had we signed them early, and I feel we have adequate cover (in their positions) for the start of the season, so not as urgent as Ndombele

So recent ITK confirms, a big name signing will only happen if we sell a big player in effect. Dybala would only be a monster and statement signing if we didnt have to sell a a big player, if he was in addition to what we have (with assumption Lo celso coming already) then yes we as spurs are up there playing with the bigger boys.

12 days left in the window, I'm pretty sure some of these deals are probably all but done and just awaiting a preferred time to announce, or awaiting medicals, etc. I'm not overly worried personally
Wish i had your confidence dude, Im seeing our businesses as done....apart from enquiries if we sell. Hope I'm wrong, JL doesnt seem that interested in big investment, ala Liv style.
Talking players obviously not the huge amount on the stadium etc.

A proper pre-season?
The only concrete targets we've been linked with are all still away/ injured. I would agree if our targets were training with their current clubs now but Sessegnon was away with the U21s this summer, got injured and has only just come back. Dybala and Lo Celso were both away with Argentina for the Copa America and still haven't returned to training as they're on their summer breaks.
I don't see why we had to sign these players ages ago. We would have just been paying their wages for a month for no reason. Say Dybala/ Lo Celso were on 100k a week, signing them 5 weeks ago would have cost us £1m+Sessegnons' wages for no benefit

Guys things are happening behind the scenes definitely. Cannot see Poch going into this year with us not having being backed by Levy; the only way we miss out on targets are if they are offered or speak to clubs who are a bigger draw than us. We definitely have the money but the calibre of player that we’re going for means that we have to keep schtum! IN my opinion. a lot more going on that just lo Celso, Sess and Dybala.

Exactly. Our issue last season was a lack of depth in quality... If we have to sell to buy, that doesn't solve the depth issue imo
