From bits I've heard I think they'll be sold but not to this guy.
Driving the price up?
From bits I've heard I think they'll be sold but not to this guy.
This is my main issue with it. Suddenly midtable clubs that are fairly run won't be able to buy mid-tier players because they are massively overpriced.
The only up side in the equation is that it will forces teams lower down to concentrate their efforts in bringing through youth.
In no way does it make the money coming in acceptable. But it might give some youngsters a chance that they otherwise would not have had.

All those worrying, if dude wass worth the money claimed. There are three bigger clubs that he could buy (and not feel the expense). Chelsea and Man United and us. You don't buy Newcastle for any reason other than being a fan or they are cheap.
Haha not a single player is going to join Newcastle over us.
United aren't for sale. Us and Chelsea would cost a fortune and Chelsea need a new stadium. Newcastle have great support, a 53K stadium and wouldn't cost even half as much as the other teams you mentioned.
Probably not, but Newcastle could force prices up if they went for the same players as us.
The Glazers will be in charge of United as long as the club is profitable, full stop. That is all that will ever matter to them.Yeah I can’t see the Glazier’s selling United until they have completely ruined them and the fans do proper revolt. They bought the club on debt, suck out bags of catch every year and only service the interest on the total debt.
“And its definitely got a castle Mr Ashley...”Think how disappointed the new owners must be, deep inside on some level. They've got billions to burn. They want to buy into high-level football and then... what's that? Newcastle? But... I've got billions. Maybe someone in the Champions League? No? Okay... Let's say anyone in the top half of the table in England or France or Spain or Italy? No?! Fuck's sake, only Newcastle? .... Fine, whatever. Someone get me a JonJo Shelvey shirt and let's do this.

It’s not like it’s a straight choice between CL without financial doping, or CL with it. For Newcastle the choice is between perpetual mediocrity under Ashley, or the hope that maybe their club will be the next Man City under the new ownership.
No real fan under would plump for honest mediocrity on those terms.
As long as they spend more than Ashley I think their fans will be happyApparently they’re not going to do a city and spend loads “Fans won’t be disappointed but we will have to manage expectations — we aren’t talking Man City here."
I would totally take oil money billions if Spurs had the chance to be taken over and get to spend the kind of money that Man City do.
