Wouldn't be a proper transfer window without a link to Bale ?
The Sun article on Bale
Real Madrid star Bale offered Tottenham return in staggering £10million LOAN move to escape Bernabeu boos
Spanish giants are desperate to offload the £600,000-a-week forward as Zinedine Zidane wants him out the squad.
GARETH BALE has been offered a Tottenham return — in a £10million LOAN.
Real Madrid are desperate to offload the winger as manager Zinedine Zidane wants him out of his squad.
The Spanish giants are willing to take a huge hit on Bale’s wages too, with the season-long deal covering just half his pay.
Spurs’ transfer committee are discussing the possibility of a loan but have ruled out a permanent deal for their former superstar.
He gets north of £600,000 a week at Real but would have to accept less than half elsewhere.
Real will take an offer where a club pays around £250,000 a week for Bale’s wages PLUS a £10m fee for a season.
Bale, 29, is public enemy No 1 in Madrid, with Bernabeu fans booing him when he has played this season.
And almost 90 per cent of them voted for him to be sold this summer.
Spurs fans would have a different reaction to Bale, he left a hero for Real in a then-world-record £86m sale in 2013.
French giants Lyon are also keen in a Bale loan but, again, it is a question of financing a deal.
Boss Zidane is willing to dump Bale — who has won four Champions Leagues with Real — into the Under-23s rather than let him train with the first team, having left him out of the senior squad for Los Blancos’ last two matches.
Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett still claims his player wants to stay and “see out” his contract.
