Llorente should only be utilised when:

- last 20 mins and we need a goal
- late on to hold the ball up
- late sub if we’re winning to rest others

I know Alli has been pants lately but he’s predominantly being played out of position. I’d play him as the striker against Ajax with Son and Moura either side of him.

What about when we've no other players fit or available? Can we use him then?

Can you imagine any other team in Europe going into a CL semi final.with a 34yr old striker up front?
No, me neither.
Its not his fault. He is at the end of his career and doesnt fit how we play at all.

Well there won't be many times where a team would have 2 strikers missing going into a CL semi tbf

our football doesn't support the type of striker he is. Also Kane's obsession with playing every min of every game does not help either.

The 2nd striker type doesn't matter. If 2nd striker is only good aerially like Llorente, then fine. But then, our players have to be flexible enough to provide him the service he requires. You can't play Llorente or Crouch and put ball over the top and expect them to chase. Often this season, we are guilty of overplaying & not playing to his strength. When we do put in those crosses, he has done well.

Going forward, I want the 2nd striker to be bit more younger, hungrier and be all round player. But if not, its ok. As long as the 2nd striker has a strong in a particular way of playing, our players have to adapt to his style & provide service.

This. Llorente of 7-8 years ago would be a fantastic option but Llorente aged 35 is not a long term option, a Timo Wener or even a Zaha as a back up striker would be great.
Problem with Zaha is he will want first team. Unless you mean he would switch to that position if needed. Wener is a great shout

Just look at Kanes and Dele’s injury record. Whoever we bring in will get serious minutes. Even Lucas has been out a few times this season and when you throw in coming off the bench whoever replaces Llorente could well play a part in almost every game.

I know this is going to sound a bit amateurish, but...

If we only need a target man for specific games (say 5 or 6 a season) and only for 15 to 20 minutes in those games, then do we need to go out and spend £15m to £20m on this player at all?

Why not just use one of our centre backs?

Ultimately, the likes of Foyth or Sanchez would probably be quicker, better at heading and better at passing.

A fit Janssen would be preferable.
I think that sums my thoughts on Fernando.

My problem with Llorente is the lack of movement and aggression in and around the box. It's said that his strength is his heading, but I'm struggling to see it. He never seems to attack the ball; he's always standing still.

If Kane is out Son comes in although Kane has been Injured twice this season he's picking up freak injuries on the ankles, no tears or pulls or strains so whether those Injuries are sustainable is anyone's guess.

Dele's injury record isn't that bad, we've just been completely fucked over by the World Cup which is skewing things.

Llorente has only started two PL matches this season and considering Kane has been out twice and Son has been away at the AG it's a pretty telling stat. It basically means that whoever comes in won't be used that much, certainly won't be starting many matches anyway.

It's so easy to play centre forward, just send a big lad up there, yeah? Disagree wholeheartedly tbh.

Foyth or Sanchez!? LOL.
