This is the wishlist thread not the Harry Winks thread guys come on.

Back on topic...i want nothing to do with Andre Gomes. We cant keep buying filler players. We need some genuine quality if we want to push on. He isnt better than our current options imo.

Grealish I am all for, same with AWB. As well as those two we need a top DM/CM and another attacking option. An ideal window for me would be:

Daniel James
Grealish
Ndombele
AWB

However im expecting:

Grealish
Andre Gomes
Sessegnon

Grealish is only 50/50 given Villa’s form going into the play-offs.

Our CM options are Winks, Sissoko, Dier and Wanyama. Imo Gomes is better than both Dier and Wanyama so would improve our squad.

He is way down on my list of preferred midfielders but that just shows how easy it should be to upgrade our squad.

The masses disagree with the fact that he hasn't been able to finish the last 3 seasons?
The first two were related to the same ankle problem, which he had surgery on and which has not recurred since. It's a bit disingenuous to act as though his current problem is related when it's a totally different issue caused by a lack of rotation, at least if you believe the journalists close to the club.

Turning our nose up at Tielemans in January because "we don't do loans" has to be one of the most stupid decisions I've ever heard of when you take into account the absolutely disgraceful state of our central midfield options. How much of a difference would he have made in all the league matches where we dropped points with Winks out of the team, or on Tuesday?

The only way this disaster is mitigated at all is if Poch was completely convinced we'd land Rabiot and then the passing of his father days before the close of the window prevented him from making the leap. Given that we aren't even really linked with Rabiot now I highly doubt that was the case.

We have to have the most inept recruitment setup in all of world football, and there's no fucking indication whatsoever that anything has changed. It's genuinely nauseating.

below is what I typed to another poster. the other thing was that one of the reasons he failed at Monaco was his work rate. he has proved them wrong, but has he proved them wrong to try and get a bigger move.

He's now been unable to finish 3 season in a row.

Shit I should have known the second I said something negative about Winks the masses would come out.
That's silly. Criticism of players is taken in stride on this board. Trust me! BTW I got this great bit of land just northwest of ya. Tons'a oil, you game?

If we are serious about Gomes its clear we're no longer interested in challenging for the top spots. Gomes is way to casual, slow and easily overran in midfield. On his day he can do some nice stuff with the ball, but way of the required standard for a team like Spurs.
Agree but if we are honest with ourselves so was Dembele until Poch brought out the monster in him. Mousa always had the qualities but was a little bit casual in a part of the park Poch could not tolerate it. Gomes would need to up his workrate and desire on and off the ball. But if you can combine that with his technical ability then you might have something. Just sayin. The key to him being successful as well as any and all other transfers is to get them in for a full preseason.

If the masses disagree with you then maybe you are wrong? Just a thought
Wow, that is horrible logic. Did that thought seem more air tight in your head than when you said it 'out loud'? Is that why, in your opinion, the masses try to shutdown dissenting voices on this board? Sort of, if you can quell the dissent then the problem didn't exist in the first place?

By any chance do you know the latin word for the masses?

edit: Just to help you out.

LOL now you're moving the goalposts. You didn't say something negative, you said something factually incorrect, which people rightly called you out on.

Nah, its fine to criticise Winks and be worried about his ankle issues, but you don't need to talk shit when doing so. Over the last 2 seasons (up until Dembele left) Winks has played 3574 mins in all comps, where as Dembele has played 3284 mins for us........so not exactly worse than Dembele for it.

In fact, other than Dembele's first season, every other season, he has played less mins than Winks has this season.

Note the use of the words IF and MAYBE.

Nothing definitive just a suggestion. The logic is sound, nothing wrong with reassessing an opinion if enough people question it. Doesn't mean you will but you would have to be pretty stupid or pig headed to ignore it.

On a separate note, really impressive use of Latin, it really did make you look like a 'Prickus Condescendum'

Christ some of you need to get a grip, this isn't FIFA or FM. We cannot sell and replace literally every single player in the squad except for Kane, Verts and Son.

I'm pretty sure I've seen all the other 8 players of our current strongest 11 being suggested for sale in this thread already, which is beyond comprehension. Sort yourselves out. :ROFLMAO:

That's why one shouldn't solidify an opinion until they have enough supportive data for the conclusion. And it wasn't a suggestion, you meant it. Because even as suggestion it was foolish. Nice try at a save but the OG was scored.

But yes, your revised point is absolutely valid but it shouldn't depend on the number of/"enough people". Every opposing opinion is a test of your opinion. Ideally a person would consider alternate ideas in their head before offering their opinion.

Prickus out.

Both Wanyama and Dier should be considered DMs and we would need a proper defensive minded midfielder to replace, ie not Gomes.
