He should have gone to Brighton on loan would have had a year in the prem, banged in 15 goals and earnt his was back into the squad within a year.
We didn't give him a chance really, shame because I really wanted to keep the lad. Hopefully this is the start of something good for him.. good luck Vinny.
I think we should have more than two out and out strikers at the club, I know Son can play there, but I'd still prefer we kept Janssen.
If it is just a loan deal then hopefully he will start banging in the goals again for his new side. That way we could either sell him at a good price after the loan deal expires or have him back in the first team squad.....win/win for everybody concerned I think.
Banging in for a team outside of the PL is one thing, (he was doing this at hos former club) means nothing.
He had a chance at a PL club where he could prove himself at this level, but took the easier option. I view the Turkish league as inferior to the Dutch league, so i still see this loan as a step backwards for him.
I just cannot understand this. We already know he can score in a lower quality league so we learn nothing from it. The only benefit is that they pay some of his wages. He needed an extended run in a Premier League team to allow us to make a decision on him. Letting the Brighton move fall through was a total cock up and this just exacerbates it. At least if he stayed we could have maybe given him at least some game time against stronger opposition.
Because....................?
It's not about playing in the same position, it's about scoring goals in that position and it hasn't happened, never looked like happening and there was only one likely outcome to the drama that is Janssen after Llorente was signed.
The writing was not only on the wall, it was in ten feet high red neon lights.
Because.............An injury to either Kane or Llorente leaves us with only one available striker at the club and if that injury occurred during a busy period, the remaining striker would have no rest or pressure from another striker (form wise).
You are right that Janssen has not scored much for us, but he scores consistently for Holland and we are involved in European competition.
