From the Swansea forum

What do we want to see?

What I want to see,

Nordfeldt
Naughton Amat Williams Taylor
Fer Britton
Barrow Siggurddson Montero
Gomis

And a final score of 1 - 1 and a good performance.

But what i think we will see,

Fabaisnki
Rangel Fernandez Williams Taylor
Britton
Cork Ayew
Siggrdsson
Routledge Paloschi

and a 4 - 0 spurs win.

I predict tears and people ranting on here...let's get real ..a point from the next two games would be a good achievement.

I predicted no points from the next two games and anything other than that will be a bonus. What must not happen is that the doom merchants get to the players ahead of the three games we shave a good chance of winning.
Or would it be better if the whole crowd booed the team from start to finish? I think it would made quite a few happy.

A point would be a fucking miracle.:D

4-0? On what basis? Not even during Monk's darkest days did we see such a scoreline. 3-0 were our worst results even then. Are we likely to win? No, but we're more likely of getting the 1-1 you say you're hoping for than the 4-0 you're worried we'll get.

For a sign as to how we've improved you just have to compare both Southampton results and performances We managed a draw against Spurs in the bad old days of Monk, so I'd say 4-0 is well off the mark. Are you after Lawro's job with these predictions?

Chelsea home - Jan 2015
Liverpool, Man City, Sunderland.
Spurs are 3rd in the league

Even last season's greatest ever achievement and highest ever finish of 8th (only 2 points below our other highest ever finish) we had a negative goal difference.
Keeping the score dan and maintaining a better goal difference than others around us is important.

The big advantage for these two games is that unlike the Soton's, WBA's, Palace's of this world, Spurs and Arsenal believe that they can and should go out and beat their opponents. This will mean that they will play quality football going forward and not park their bus. This is our opportunity. As with City and United away, if we can absorb their pressure and work dilligently in midfield to retain the ball and move it purposefully when we win it back then we will get our opportunities. But, we will have to play at a tempo and with a quality that matches theirs .... we have shown against City and United that we can do that. Palo, Ayew and whoever else will get more opportunity in a less congested defensive third in these two games.

Here's a few more.

My prediction is Swans 2:1 Spurs.
They have a difficult game Thursday night in Europa League against Sousa's Fiorentina. We can do it.

If we are going to defend and try and get a breakaway goal I would play:-

Fabianski
Angel Fernandez Williams Naughton
Amat
Leon Fer
Barrow Paloschi Gorre

Naughton may feel he has something to prove to the Spurs fans. Fer can attack and defend, the front three all have pace and Pal and Gorre have goals in them as their history shows. It may be a bit of a gamble but we may as well do that in a game we are expected to lose. Incidentally Yankee Jack I thought Nordvelt did ok against Oxford and if I remember rightly made some good saves and probably saved us from a bigger hammering.

You say Naughton may feel he has something to prove to Spurs fans.are you suggesting he can up his game because it's Spurs. He's a Swansea player now and that commitment should be there irrespective who we play.Nordvelt, lets not forget who he was playing against,no disrespects to Oxford, but you can hardly compare their strike force to that of Spurs.

You really believe that these players are going to step up and put a shift in? they are mugging you right off if you think that they are absolutely spineless.

A bit from Redcafe

Can we please ban Glaston if Spurs win the league. It will be unbearable! ;)

I want them to win the league but those feelings are being tempered by the inevitable Glaston gloating.

Imagine where they would be with Modric and Bale still in the team

I thoroughly hope they or Leceister win the League.

We have to beat Arsenal.

Europa coming up, the answer is no. I can't see Poch sacrificing Europa and he'll be fooled into thinking he has a good enough squad for both. Ultimate reality will kick in when Tom Carroll, Lamela, etc, are found out in the league without Alli, Erikson and Kane next to them. I can see Newcastle, Brom, Bournemouth and specially Villa giving them big shocks (where Poch will give his squad players games).
Have you watched them play this season? Spurs look brilliant to my eye and are my favourites for the league at the moment

I'd actually want them to win the league if it weren't for Glaston.

Leicester have looked far better. Why are they not your favourites for the league? Have you not been watching them?

I've been watching both and I believe Spurs are looking better at the moment. They just look to me like they have more control over games and a squad with the potential to keep it going until the end of the season. I'm still not convinced Leicester will sustain what they've been doing until May

valid point - though the thought of spurs winning and Glaston taking over the transfer forum with talk of getting modric / bale back now they are champions before finally selling Alli and Kane to them for shed loads of money on deadline day makes me think it would be all worth while.

But If Leicester dont win it then Id prefer Spuds over Arsenal or City (mind you the thought of City winning everything and still sacking pellagrini is mildly amusing)

Tottenham are certainly likeable at the moment. Poch/most of their players seem to be decent lads and they play good football without any on/off the pitch shenanigans.

I was a bit worried when Vertonghen picked up his injury a few weeks back, thereby disrupting the best CB partnership in the Prem this season, but Wimmer - signed for just £4m - has filled the vacancy really well ... to the point where Vertonghen looks like having real competition for a starting slot when he returns

Alderweireld performing to way he has been is probably an important factor in both Vertonghen/Wimmer looking good as well. I've always liked Alderweireld but I never thought him capable of the level he's been at this season. Very calm, very assured and leading that defense by great example.
I saw this stats earlier (no idea how valid) that if true is pretty incredible: apparently he's committed only 7 fouls in 26 league games this season.

I think they are favourites for the title at this moment and i think everyone will recognize that after they play Arsenal.

Laughable that one of them wants to play three in the middle against us. Do they want there only touches to be the keeper taking goal kicks?

I got this from a Fiorentina forum...you've got to love Google translate :D

Tottenham v Fiorentina, here's how Pochettino can move the Spurs

These could be some tactical adjustments for Mauricio Pochettino Less than 24 hours after challenge of London between Tottenham and Fiorentina are starting to see what will be the possible tactical adjustments for the Spurs Pochettino. The technical Argentine, who after losing in the FA Cup against Crystal Palace has desire for redemption, will not have available, as has been written, Harry Kane. Thereby, in Son Leung-Min, only rapid and lethal tip supported by Chadli, Eriksen and the jewel of Dele Alli home. In median Carroll and Mason on the ballot with Dier and Dembele. In defense Tripper right and left Davies. Still in the pits the goalkeeper Lloris to injury, still play the Dutchman Vorm.

Purple Paulo Sousa will have to pay very close attention behind, against a fast and deadly attack like that of Tottenham The match against Tottenham will be particularly sensitive, not only because it is decided already a piece important to the history of the UEFA Europa League this year, but also because the London race will consume 4 days after home match against Napoli and 8 from the away match in Rome against the Giallorossi. Even more so, in how these challenges, need more attention, especially in defense. Yeah, the defense, the field next to which, in Florence, they are used to abuse words like "difficulty", "distracted" and so on and so forth. Yet, judging by the results from the first of the season to date, Fiorentina had never gone beyond the three consecutive games with a goal to passive, unlike the initialed goals, whose streak lasted beyond 20 games. As also mentioned in Sousa press conference this afternoon, Fiorentina is almost always gone in goals this season. But what is revealed by looking at the results, it is also that in the last 5 matches Fiorentina have always conceded: Carpi, Bologna, Inter, Tottenham and Atalanta have all violated the lily network. Something that, until now, had not yet happened this season. That's why Paulo Sousa will take special care to a team, Tottenham, which has the second best attack in the Premier League with 47 goals scored (Leicester and Manchester City are 48). So look back, because if it is true that the best defense is a good offense, we must not forget that the great victories, almost always, are built by the defense. In less than 24 hours White Hart Lane will give the response ...

Bah, that one is largely dormant, and consists above all of one user. In the match thread, he/she posts snippets from newspapers and social media. The best forum for an actual discussion board is http://forum.chatviola.it/index.php?PHPSESSID=2huvdvlajetgmf5t95d3tc41i3&topic=6803.465

Cool - this is interesting...

Meanwhile Kane jumps finishing. Hopefully you do not play at least one danger is escaped. If Eriksen to take a fulminating diarrhea it would not hurt.
