Its a question that is bound to be asked, and one I disagree with personally as I cant see any leaving, even if we dont make the CL as I feel they have all bought into the project set out under Pochettino, especially with the new stadium on its way etc.

I suppose those at "risk" of leaving would be Kane, Lloris, Vertonghen and maybe Eriksen although hes been criticised a lot recently.

Defeatist post annoys me. We will make it and if everyone believes that and the players do we will get there.

They can't just leave if they under contract.

If any of our best players leave it will be because they get offered wages we can't match at clubs who give them an opportunity to compete for league titles and trophies immediately. That will be appealing regardless whether we are in the CL or not.

I suppose any player can leave, as contracts are pretty 'breakable'. I am pretty sanguine about players leaving us in the longer term - providing our development continues, producing our own youngsters, there should (well mostly) be a replacement. That's my fantasy anyway!

Lloris and eriksen would leave imo if we werent that close.

If it was a very close run thing i think theyd all stay

Nothing defeatist so I don't know why it's annoying you o_O

I both believe we will get at least 4th place and don't believe any of our better players would leave if we don't. Just asking the question as a lot of fans of opposition clubs seem to think we are still the selling club we were 5 years ago.

Always makes me laugh when people say our best players will leave for CL football, leave for where?...there needs to be a market for them? :D

I doubt they would push for a move but I'm sure other clubs would be sniffing around which is usually where it all starts.

There is always a market for good players. Most of our players are good enough that they already have suitors, but they are happy to stay at the moment - if we don't qualify for the CL, the chances of them wanting a move away is obviously much higher.

Lloris and Kane would be the obvious targets if we don't qualify for CL. I think we'll probably be able to keep Kane a while longer (though if we fail to qualify for the CL in the long-term, we have to be realistic - he will probably go) but Lloris will probably go. Frankly I'm surprised he hasn't gone already, it's laughable that a player of his class isn't playing in the CL given the relative mediocrity of the goalkeepers at some of the top sides in Europe. Madrid and Barca in particular have been getting by with sub-standard 'keepers for the past couple of years.

There might well be a few players who would want to leave - Eriksen, Lamela, Vertonghen maybe - but I don't think anyone is likely to meet our valuations of them, so they'll probably stay.

Luckily we've only had Alli a year; I reckon if we don't get CL there will be some big clubs in for him, but we'll be able to bat them off for a year or two.

I honestly believe that most if not all would give Poch another season AS LONG as we don't collapse completely and are competitive till the last day.

I will concede the point regarding Kane, he would have a lot of suitors and so would Alderweireld but apart from that I can't see many clubs coming in for our other so called top players, Eriksen, Lamela...can't see many bigger sides going in for them, not because they're not good enough more down to the fact that there's an abundance of top class attacking midfielders across Europe and I can't think of many teams they'd out and out strengthen at the moment.

In regards to Lloris, all the top clubs have top keepers, even Real and Barca have had excellent keepers which is partly the reason he hasn't gone anywhere, I don't know who you are referring to as sub standard GK's for those two clubs?

No point in worrying about it. Its inevitable at certain points we'll lose one of our best players now and again. I don't see it happening as much as it use tp though given the feeling at the Club at the moment, with Pochettino, and the ambitions we have with a new stadium. There's a real feel good factor going on.

The main point is that we have the right foundations in place to ensure that we don't hurt too much when we do lose a player - and we're on our way to achieving that sort of framework under Poch. That's what will wee achieve long terms success.

Claudio Bravo and Keylor Navas are sub-standard for the level they are at. Ter Stegen could potentially be as good as Neuer IMO, but he's been there for 18 months and still isn't first choice. Lloris is better than either of them and still has a decade of football ahead of him. There may be an argument against him fitting their system with Barca favouring a goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet I guess.

My big fear is that De Gea goes in the summer and United go all out for Lloris, or alternatively that United fend off Madrid's approaches and Lloris ends up at the Bernabeu. Either way I struggle to see him being with us if we fail to get the CL - but I said the same last year and he stayed, so who knows.

The one thing that works in our favour is that, for various reasons, we're very unwilling to sell to Arsenal, Chelsea and United, who can reasonably expect to fill three of the CL spots most seasons, leaving City as the only domestic club that players can expect to leave us for.

Things have changed over the past couple of years. Like we found with barahino clubs don't need to sell for the cash as the premier league deal is so big. Therefore getting the quality of player that is being spoken about here the values are going to be massively inflated.

That doesn't mean a player won't go but I think it is less likely in the way we have seen in the past.

We're playing champions league next year anyway...*

Lloris is the one I'm worried about.
He'll be showcased at the Euro's showing just how brilliant he is.

Nope

Eriksen isn't good enough

Kane's too young

Lloris has too much class and is very settled in London
