Juventus are considering a possible midfielder to buy in the event that Weston McKennie were to be sold.
The American has several suitors, including Tottenham of director Fabio Paratici who had bought him at the time of Juve.

Good player but would suit the role that Nuno has given Dele — hardworking No. 8 who arrives late in the box to get on the end of chances — moreso than serving as a like-for-like Ndombele replacement.

I’m not sure he’s what we need and I’d rather see us go for more of a playmaker unless there will be more outs than just Ndombele and Sissoko (who we’ve already replaced with Skipp IMO). Hard to see us doing that much business.

Getting him in would take a lot of pressure off Skipp. Would mean we could play 2 of the 3 as DMs in each match. We still need somone who can play through the lines though (assuming Ndombele leaves)

I'd love to think we're signing him no matter what happens, but I'd imagine what will more likely happen is:
  1. Sissoko alone goes - we sign McKennie or someone cheaper in for depth
  2. Sissoko goes and Ndombele leaves for loan w/obligation for €50mil - we sign McKennie and Aouar.

He’s an excellent goalscorer for a CM and is legitimately a world class header of the ball. Also works his nuts off and gets stuck in. Rather direct, not going to be a maestro pulling the strings. Not entirely dissimilar to the player Dele is attempting to become.

The fans would take to him immediately due to his work rate and goalscoring prowess. I’m not sure it’d leave our midfield with the right balance if Lo Celso, whose form has been very patchy, were the only playmaker in the squad, however.

He is kind of a combo of Skipp and Dele.

Would Dele - Hojbjerg - McKennie work or is it too light?

Not too light at all. McKennie works his nuts off, is positionally sound and is strong in the tackle.

What that midfield would lack is ingenuity and the ability to carve open the opposition. It’s a midfield for a counterattacking setup where we concede possession, not a midfield that would be suitable against a deep block.
