What worries me is that last season I genuinely thought it was down to the World Cup, players having less of a break/pre-season etc. We don't have that excuse this season, no wonder our mentality as a club is constantly being questioned.

The one thing is our favour at the moment is that Sunday is one of them games that can kick start a season if we win well BUT it's also one that could swing a few grumbles into massive discontent. Let's just hope Poch and the lads sort it out this weekend.

True but can you realistically see us changing to fast, incisive football from the turgid that wouldn't hurt an under 10s team.

Kane strikes me as the last person to get into a fight... he's a model pro.
Remember that Danny Rose said he gets very fired up in the dressing room, and there were rumours that he was part of the younger players that had a bit of a barny with Kaboul and Adebayor in the Poch early days.

I'm sure he does get passionate, he's a leader. But I don't think he's a throwing his weight around kind of passionate.

The Adebayor story, famously, is that he was in the huff that this upstart Kane was playing ahead of him. Kaboul (who'd just been made captain by vote) and Lennon sided with Adebayor and went to Poch with their demands that Adebayor start.

Poch's response was to never play them again and flog them at the first opportunity. In a way it was the beginning of him stopping the rot, and putting his methods in place.

Where did you hear that from?
Some one at work, from what I hear it seems to be legit, apparently there is a big divide because of Eriksen and his situation. supposedly they was a fight in training last week and someone got a black eye

I can't believe that for one second. Scuffles can happen but its very rare it breaks into a divide.

There was at least one shot that I remember in the Sky coverage of the Newcastle game showing Vertonghen sitting on the bench, and his shiner was visible enough that my family and I commented on it at the time during the broadcast.

Verts definitely had a black eye. No idea why though.

Normally you’d think nothing of it but when you put that together with him being dropped for 3 games, it’s odd.

Odd yes, but I cannot see anyone bopping Jan, he would give it back, ten fold, probably just an accident in training.

Interesting if other players are fighting over Eriksen's situation. Sounds weird.

Overall, for every premier league club, goals scored and conceded in the first 15 minutes of games according to soccerstats

2018/19
Goals scored in the first 15 minutes of games - 7
Only five clubs scored more goals than us in the first 15 minutes of games

Goals scored in the second 15 minutes of games - 14
Only ONE club scored more goals than us in the second 15 minutes of games

Goals conceded

2018/19
Goals conceded in the first 15 minutes of games - 4
Fourteen clubs conceded more goals than us first 15 minutes

Goals conceded in the second 15 minutes of games - 4
Fourteen clubs conceded more goals than us second 15 minutes

It’s worth comparing how we do against how other clubs start to see if it’s a misconception and I believe it is.

We don't do too bad really.
I wonder the relevance of this information apart from making Tottenham look better (than they are?).
I would offer the food for thought that because of the vast quality void in the league, maybe comparing us to ALL 20 teams of PL (even if the 20 teams are in the same league) is an too easy and somewhat inaccurate point. To a certain degree, it is of no importance to us what the statistics for teams trying to avoid relegation are, or trying to finish mid-table are because the objectives of Tottenham, and the everyday circumstance for Tottenham, is very different. The comparison should probably be restricted to other teams hoping for top 4/CL footie, now THOSE number would probably show some real info about the situation. Other teams being bad at something doesn't necessarily mean that Tottenham is not doing poorly at something, because what plenty of other PL teams do might not really be relevant data to us in the first place.
