Oh no not Gimenez, hope he goes to scum and not us.
PL flop written all over him
PL flop written all over him
Is he actually any better than Richy? Considering Richy has done it in the prem.Wow you’re right? Had a fancy seat it seems as well. Like @rossdapep said a few months back and considering our links to him dating back to last summer I have always had this feeling we would go for him.

I hope am wrong but the dutch league is such a poor league RARELY do strikers succeed here
Am very much on the same trail of thought with all that mate tbfI don’t get as bothered as a lot do by the league a player is coming from.
But I’ll say right now Richarlison is better than Gimenez.
I would rather keep him than sign Gimenez and I don’t think Richarlison is good enough. Should tell you everything really.
Van Nisterloy, Van Persie, Suarez were amazing here. Plenty of flops obviously but we don't have too many of those since Paratici joined. Liverpool signed Premiership proven Benteke and Carroll and they were worse than many flops from Eredivisie. There's always a risk. Richarlison is injury prone so we would need another one in any case. I don't know anything about Gimenez other than his stats and I'm not sure if he is the one, but I don't mind the league he is coming from. Anyone will look shit after getting used to Kane anyway. Is he actually any better than Richy? Considering Richy has done it in the prem.

The little i saw Jimenez is more Jansen than Suarez, way too slow for the PL and really hope Slot takes him to Liverpool.
Since last summer my opinion has been very much we would go for one of Gimenez or David so I would not be at all be surprised if this is what happens. It seems like we have been tracking him since last season. His age and the fact he is proficient in an incredibly similar tactic to ours plus he has solid stats on the whole and will likely be significantly lower price wise then some of the others. Realistically I think we will be looking in the €40 mil price range for him which is less then pretty much every forward I can think of bar David given his contract running out next summer. In regards to style of play Gimenez is exactly the type of striker I would expect us to look for, a fox in the box who's best skill by far is his movement especially in opposition area where he is very good at finding pockets of space which is highlighted by his average 7.91 touches in the opp box per 90 which puts him in the 88th percentile of strikers. Off the ball he also is comfortable being the start of the press but will drop back into the midfield to help if the ball isn't won in the first pressing phase. Essentially on paper I can 100% understand why we would be looking at him.Is he actually any better than Richy? Considering Richy has done it in the prem.

Lutsharel Geertruida was also there, shown on his instagram. Don't know anything about him other than he can play cb, rb and dm
Edit - he obviously may have just been going to watch football
You'll never sing that.i would actually prefer us to sing 18 year old Semih Kılıçsoy
Then we can pretend we know all about them and get annoyed when they don't signYou'll never sing that.
Seriously though, I've never really watched Giminez but your post has just answered every question I was about to ask, so cheers.
It's going to be an interesting summer, that's for sure.
I would be at all surprised to see us pull a couple of unknown* names out of our arse.
*Unknown to most of us plebs, so we'll be relying more on the likes of yourself and @Nick-TopSpursMan to keep us in the knowledge.
Yep, then I can recommend them to my son on FIFA and carry on the charade that I know what the fuck I'm talking about! Then we can pretend we know all about them and get annoyed when they don't sign
Here, watch the video bellow. The kid has insane technical ability for a CF to the point he's been played wide left a number of times. He has 10 league goals in 20 games at only 18. He can play with ether foot and shoot from distance. He also has the physical strength of someone 5/6 years his senior. Not only that he has creative vision, he has played as an AM in the past, and he tracks back and does the dirty work. The kid is going to be a mega star IMO and nobody is really talking about him outside of Turkey. Not sure why. You'll never sing that.
