Massive performance from England so far.

They've been rightly criticised in the build up but this is a huge step up.

Not wanted to say anything as expected it all to go wrong once I did!

But for a change it seems like England's discipline has won them the game here while Argentina seems to be doing so many silly mistakes.

One thing that England need to stop is the up and unders into the 22, almost always gives the ball away, but outside 22 we seem to win a fair amount.

The intelligence and composure England have shown give me hope for a decent world cup run. Not enough to win it mind. They are still a long way off SA, Ireland and France.

Yeah we're still not actually good

But this is a sign that we can at least get the most out of what we have

Vunupola and Farrell shouldn't get anywhere near this starting XV

What a performance. Says nothing about England's chances in this World Cup, but as a one-off game with 14 men for the whole game against a (normally) borderline 1st tier side that cannot be faulted.

Fair play to em'. At the start I thought it was a 50/50 game, and after 5 minutes they had no hope based on the the last 12 months and down a man. But that was pretty impressive.
Losing a man seemed to affect Argentina more than England, and Ford's kicking just threw them completely.

Has the advantage rule changed? A few times advantage is given and when kicked it's lost. It used to be if no advantage was made after the kick it went back? Not watched much rugby in years so sorry if well late!

Depends on the infringement. If it's a scrum advantage, the advantage is lost when the ball is kicked. If it's a penalty advantage a lot more leeway is given and play can continue after the ball is kicked.

Very impressed with the England 14, very unimpressed by the Argentinian 15.

England's tackling was so much better than their last half dozen matches; very quickly up and missing very few.

Coming away from the 22 with points - instead of lousing it up - is winning rugby. Ford played his best match for England I think, and will be in contention when Farrell is available.

They won't win the tournament - nowhere near good enough - but the route to the quarters might be easier if they can now top the group.

As for the red card; Curry should simply have tackled low. I thought it was harsh at first, but if you're upright and about to hit an upright ball carrier, whoever has the greater momentum, you'll be in trouble. Always aim for around the hips with your shoulder and there's no chance of an accidental head clash for which you WILL get punished.

Didn’t see that coming at all, great performance albeit against a side who just didn’t turn up.

England should be topping that group now, play the winner of tonight's game between Wales and Fiji in the QF

I fancied Fiji for that until Caleb Muntz got injured, Wales probably win it now

I love this referee. He's, so far, applied the rules with a mind to it being a proper physical game where not everything is deliberate.

But they will, both need to be binned off, but Farrell is weirdly undroppable it seems, and I don't get why?like English sports tes of past it seems the rugby union side just can't move on from certain players.
