Sadly I think missing out on champions league is what we need.
a kick up the arse to sort the direction of the club.
kane leaves, son sold and we have to start all over again
In the past that would have been written off as unlucky but not anymore
Beginning a rebuild without CL revenue / player pull is not a conducive environment to start a rebuild as a big 6 side. You have your best chance of recruiting a player to replace Kane with CL football.

I understand the logic but can’t agree
CL football just keeps us ticking along for another season.
It has to go wrong to prove the business model isn’t working

Which top player have we bought in with the pull of CL?

Even by the low standards ENIC has set on the football side, there’s no way they let the crown jewel leave without bringing in an attractive replacement. Supporters would revolt.

only works if we are completely out of Europe so can just do the league and cups next season.

Arsenal didn't have champions league?
And they have been beat out to many of their targets. They had a manager with special links to the City squad, recruited cleverly, and also uprooted their best player out of the academy. We haven’t proven to do any but the latter. Great side but think their supporters would agree they have also had a significant streak of luck this season.

Erm, didn't Poch do exactly that without CL football.....

...and hasn't Arteta just done that too.

Far too many worry that without CL football you are going to fall away which quite simply isn't the case.

We've qualified plenty of times only to fall away and then qualify once again years later.

Yes and good luck with that!
I’d expect Daniel would give a budget of £80 mil and expect a similar return over 5 years
And we’d spend it all on someone like Olly Watkins or yousouf mokoko and they’d score 5 goals in 3years

It depends on whether you want progressive rebuilding or try to buy again players for big money who may not suit us - as has been the case.

I think the reactions all here are OTT. Its a great result for Liverpool but i think the challenge for our players and Conte now is to use the last few results as a catalyst to change and tweak - Klopp and Liverpool have done that and now we need to rise up to it. The remaining games of the season will tell a hell of a lot.

You reckon? I think they could do anything. That don't give a stuff about the fans.

Finding an arsenal fan who would admit that is as rare as rocking horse shit
