So with the news about Kane, it makes the next 3 weeks or so even more important, to us fans at least. But what will the board think?

On the one hand, we could say that this season has been a nightmare, it's been full of bad luck and injuries, write it off and although we won't get the champions league, the market is better in the summer.

Or, go all out now in the hope we manage to somehow scrape into the top 4 still and get that sweet, sweet CL money?

Trying to look at it rationally, it might make business sense to wait to buy for a better price in the summer, without the inevitable mid season premium. Although that would likely mean another 4 months of shit performances and results unfortunately.

It would take significant investment to get us challenging for the top 4 this season, so it wouldn't surprise me if Levy sticks and doesn't provide the investment that would be seen as a gamble.

I don’t think we’ll have any plan other than see if anything falls in our lap on deadline day

The absolute last thing we should do is panic buy and land ourselves a forward we over pay the selling club, don't particularly covet and on a 3 year plus deal which we then have trouble shifting on further down the line.

NOT THE TIME TO BUY A STRIKER!

Long term involves buying players now too since we won't be able to buy everyone in summer and too many players will need time to settle then.

The trouble we’ll have if we lose Son or Moura to injury or suspension while Harry’s out.

I think we’ll need someone in on loan, though Parrot is definitely worth giving some minutes to.

Since when have we had a plan? The summer proves how useless we are.

Levy’s whole plan revolves around what is commercially best for Tottenham Hotspur the business, he don’t give a shit about what is on the pitch.

However if he doesn’t pull his finger out then the football side of things will begin to have an impact on his beloved commercial side.

who wants to sponsor a team in the europa league? Nobody - threat to the naming rights.

who wants to watch the team in the europa league? Nobody - threat to ticket sales. Look at the FA cup replay, you can buy up to 6 tickets per member / ST holder

Etc etc

His bullshit investment strategy into the squad has cost us badly and we’ve ended up in the scenario we face today.

going back the OP question I think the answer is that he will do neither the short or long term option. A leopard never changes his spots and this bald **** certainly won’t after 20 years of the same old

The football side is a inconvenience to Enic, If it was a building Project they’d think differently.
The chickens are coming home to roast they have to spend this window or the club might not even qualify for the europa league.

We've required an adequate striker replacement for Kane for years, about time we finally pull the trigger. Just has to be the right profile.

The best short and long term plan would be to get another player like Son, to replace Lucas, who can play wide forward and centrally when Kane is not playing. Players like Zaha or Werner. But that’d be too smart by half for us.

6 seasons and an average spend of less than £8m per season should tell you everything you need to know about ENIC’s intentions

I dont think we will buy anyone. I think eriksen will be kept until end of season meaning son or moura will be the guy in the middle up top.

Ideally, they should give parrot a run in the side.

I also think Jose may decide to ditch the FA Cup now to prioritise an attempt at achieving top 4.
