They play on the Friday? Or Saturday? Swapping ANY other game would have sufficed. Our football association and the TV companies do bugger all to help clubs manage schedules and European competitions. Only Wolves had a mid-week game. They're playing 3 games in 7 days in AUGUST! That club is not used to the schedule of the Europa League. Just think our clubs could be given some help and alleviate the mass of matches in a small amount of time. The Eredivisie postponed ALL games prior to the first leg of the semis. That is an association that actually gives a damn.
They played on the Thursday last week, and you're suggesting they play on Friday or Saturday? OK

The Eredivisie can postpone all games because its a poor league with hardly any interest from the rest of the world, they have nowhere near the obligations that the premier league or other top leagues do.
If it was the most watched league in world football do u honestly think they'd be able to do that ?

Then Sunday rather than the Monday in that case. No need to be patronising about it. I hadn't realised they played last Thursday as well. My point is other leagues and clubs get scheduling help from their associations, why can't we? If they want English clubs to be the best, most dominant, then to help alleviate injuries how about looking at fixtures and help out here and there.

Surely playing Sunday is absolutely no different regarding recovery times as playing Monday is?
Didn't mean to come across as patronising, just seems that you hadn't really thought it through and were just ranting.

...and didn't us and Liverpool get matches rescheduled before our CL semi finals?

Our free-to-air broadcaster has lost their games this season so the PL games are only available on satellite through one company, which is a shame. SBS (equiv of BBC) lost the Champs Lge for last season but replaced it with the Copa Libertadores and that was great, but now nothing...

I didn't realise until this week. Been away the last two weekends.

:(

That’s a shitter, more than one way to skin a cat though :sneaky: find yourself a good stream.

That head injury right there is a microcosm of what happens when you have to use an XI that is brand new to one another. Communication and familiarization is huge. Villa have none of it. Freak accident, yes but one that never should have happened. Villa are going to have serious issues again this PL campaign if these players dont learn to play together very quickly.

This isnt the championship where some teams are in dire straights and theres a 46 match campaign so you can afford growing pains. This is the PL where all teams are stable and competitive with 8 less matches.

Maybe Everton should play their expensive young wonder striker. Just a thought.

Of course it will help that Everton have no clue what there doing most of the time as well. But that's only 2 matches

Terrible defending by Everton for that goal. That pass should never have been on.

That was a terrible goal to concede. Static defence trying to hold a line with the ball in that position and zero pressure on the man. Anyone half competent is sliding it through for the runner. The right centre back Keane had to be tracking and coming across on the cover.

Calvert-Lewin is 1 in 8 in his career. What in the world is Marco Silva thinking using him as the lone main striker?

For the level of money Everton have spent their side is incredibly meh. They’re basically cementing themselves as a club that will be just behind the top 6 but never really in it.

Same old Everton? Buy some decent players/spend money but doesn’t translate on the field.

They will still do ok and finish close to top 6 but not really threaten.

For how long is Silva’s position safe before the board starts questioning his ability as manager? I mean, they’ve spent plenty and it’s not like Harry’s at the wheel; they’ve bought some quality players

One nil down against Villa...

That Jota guy looks really decent.
Everton seem to be giving him way too much space. Can’t tell if it’s Mina or Digne but they’ve been incredibly poor defending that side of the pitch.

A poster on Redcafe (an Everton supporter) said it well:
“Jota looks like a really shit but amazing player at the same time.”

I really like the look of McGinn though. We obviously saw what he can do against us but I think he’ll be attracting some attention from the bigger sides next summer.
