Yup, hes very good bar finishing. But if he could finish he would be out of our league anyway!

Did they offer up an Unreal Fan Expectations per 90 stat?

The further up the pitch a player plays, the higher the risk and reward for his efforts. That's why Brennan's uptick in confidence is such a positive development. Same with Timo. Both are now attacking defenders aggressively which means making more mistakes but creating chances too. One would hope that they get better at their craft and develop more guile but as others including you have said, we need more of a fox in the box type player to unlock more goals.

I think people are ignoring completely his all round contribution and basing their entire opinion on his finishing and his rep from Chelsea.

I literally watched him mess up 4/5 chances to cross in the first half of the forest game. His general crossing is poor. Most were with his left foot granted.

I could be wrong about this but I think he may also benefit in some ways from his rep from Chelsea. I know that sounds strange but the logic is that if he was one of the world’s biggest signings of the 2020 transfer window, there must be a player in there somewhere.

I think a lot of people who had never seen him play much were excited by us signing him because of his big name. And part of his big name was that big transfer.

I also think there’s truth in what you are saying too though.

Well an xG over twice his actual goals scored kind of tells the story doesn't it?

Expected assists and assists I'm seeing different stats. He's 53rd and 65th percentile in those.

I don't think he's bad at all but starting to wonder if using 17 mil to make it permanent is a good idea. On the one hand we'll have a lot of games next season but on the other we need to be signing some really good players, not average, and we still have Solomon and Son in that position.

Soloman needs to find some fitness. At the moment he has sessegnon vibes.

Gutted for him. He came here to get fit and audition for a move to Spurs as well as a place in the German squad at the Euros.

Thought I'd know either way ad to whether Werner would be a good signing but have to say I'm completely on the fence

If you're not sure by now it's surely a no.

The only way I'd be up for signing him is if we're signing 2 other forwards and he's the 3rd.

I really like him, and wouldn't be against another loan for the whole season. Would help us manage our budget and get the players we want in as well.

Another loan would be good to be honest. See how Soloman does as well then. I would be looking for a centre forward and a wide attacker who can play either wing. Both need to be first team calibre. Then keep the better of Soloman or Werner beyond next season unless a prospect breaks through instead. Although we may shift Son by then so could still keep one for depth.

It's a loss for this season now but not long left anyway. I have to say I'll be happy to see Son on the left and Richarlison up top now though.

Think as we look like qualifying for Europa, Werner is ideal for that competition and will get goals in there

Not sure another loan would be possible, supposedly a few teams in Europe are looking at him if we decide to pass and his contract runs until 26 which would mean his value could decrease even further come next summer. Leipzig will 100% be looking for a sale this year. I think there is little chance he goes on loan again unless there is an obligation included.
