If Kompany is offered the City job after being here, then that means he did a successful job with us doesn't it? Need to stop worrying about two moves down the line when nobody knows what will happen. Everyone said the same re Gerrard and then he failed at Villa.
I don't look at it that way... it could be after 1-2-3 seasons... but I want a manager who will be 100% Spurs... and a long term project... if possible. I don't see it with Kompany.

Not sure how much difference a new manager will make. We might get a lift short term, and we’ll be back in this situation again in 12-18 months. Round and round in circles…
True post Poch, but we had relatively good periods of stability under Poch, Redknapp & Jol.

A frustration of this whole convo is some people’s inability to hold 2 thoughts and frustrations about Conte and the Owners at once.

it is more than possible to criticise Conte whilst still thinking the board and Levy are bad!

Rangnick umcovered a lot at United in his remaining weeks.

He started with the players first but gradually showed up the board for how incompetent they were and it led to changes.

It also backed the board into a corner during the summer because when Ten Hag told them who he wanted, they couldn't pull any stunts and had to get him his top targets.

I also think it helped Ten Hag when he wanted Ronaldo out.

They knew they had to really hack the guy.

I hope out next coach benefits from what Conte has said and we start to sell these players and bring in hungrier ones

I don't know if it will get better when Conte leaves, at least not short term. But I'm just tired of the negative energy around him.

It is but sets us back as the pressure will be on in the build up all week in the media to games away Everton Newcastle etc and in the press all week it will be spursy comments as the manager even doesn’t rate them. We’ll end up finishing 6 or 7th in that ECL shit again for next year

In all honesty mate, i've kind of stopped caring for this season.

It proved getting UCL didnt make much difference to us, so what the hell get in Europa League and have more of a chance of winning something.

Problem is Levy wont pay the wages and transfer fees that Man U and the gooners have done.

Gambled on UCL money and its paid off for both.

Two out of the last three though. I think we need a break
I must say I will find it somewhat ironic if we end up going for Di Zerbi (which i think we will) seeing as he was the guy Brighton brought into replace Potter who went to Chelsea.

I know it doesn’t mean much of anything and has no bearing on his ability as a manager whatsoever but I would find it slightly amusing.

It's hard to imagine we get any of this, but a huge reset is needed.

1) Next manager needs to be a strong positive character who has a positive football ethos
2) Needs to be publicly backed in a statement by Levy.
3) New DOF needs to know the league or have someone that does appointed as an assistant.
4) A ruthless culling of players must happen
5) Try not to hire criminals, emotional nutcases or "win now" coaches.
6) The constant soap opera needs to end, Daniel, build something on the football side for fuck sake, we're actually a football club, FOOTBALL CLUB, where it's possible for knowledgeable grown ups to achieve something and work in harmony for a shared goal. and you can still make money..
I feel sorry when the new guy comes in and Kane gets sold shortly after.

Levy, “I told you we needed a reset!”

I can only surmise that we haven't sacked Conte because the manager we want to bring in cannot join until the end of the season.

I absolutely dread to think who’ll they will go for next. I have zero faith in them getting the right person in and that’s being generous.

I think they’ll go for Amorim, don’t know why. Don’t think it’s the right appointment either. He hasn’t impressed me in the European games

Or doesn't want to join until the season ends, start with a fresh approach and not have the weight of us dropping off in the next 11 games lingering into next season.

I find it funny that we got ourselves to a stage where we could employ elite managers and now we are back to looking for a young up and coming managers for a slow rebuild. It just shows what kind of circus we are running and the ringmaster needs to do one.

I doubt it. It’s probably because they don’t know who they want. I wouldn’t give them any credit for any real planning. It will be hit and hope as usual.

I've a feeling it's Amorim or Gallardo..
