We will spend 70 mil to keep Porro and Kulu. With Slot seemingly costing 20 mil, I don’t really blame the club for not wanting to pull the trigger. Of course, we wouldn’t end up in this situation if we made better decisions over the years.

Love the narrative forming here that is Spurs fault for missing out on Slot rather than him being convinced to stay at his League winning and soon to be Champions League competing side? The entitlement is real!!

Not a joke if what Herc suggested last Friday is still on the cards..

This ^ could see it. It seems that Arne was playing the game last week publicly flirting with us and these quotes are extremely different.

Makes you wonder if he's better at beating the PR cycle than us (wouldn't surprise me 😂). I really liked him and thought he'd be good for us but I will wait to see it play out.

The disappointing thing about Slot turning us down is we will spend another 3 weeks looking for another candidate particularly if JN is off the table also. We will fall behind the rest of the clubs in terms of recruitment. We seem to be drifting further and further from a top 4 club to a midtable one.

Sorry but to me, we have been played.

I doubt the club had any idea that Slot was also negotiating an extension.

Everything being reported was Slot was negotiating an exit and his move to Spurs was imminent.

It is possible that Spurs baulked at the compensation fee and the fee quoted for kokcu and Slot didn’t feel like he was going to get backed by us.

Either way, this is a huge blow as Slot was perfect for us and now we look stupid and clueless.
I don't think we have been played. I think we fucked up negotiations/werent willing to pay what it takes so he's signing a new contract and saying he always wanted to stay at Feyenoord to save face

It's actually incredible that Levy hasn't resigned. He's probably in double figures of resignation level mistakes over the last few years. I don't know how he isn't ashamed and embarrassed of his own incompetence. I guess he's still up a billion so doesn't give a fuck.

Remember, we were told there were 2 top targets and from talks with them, there was a big drop off between our top target and number 2.

This is a worry.

So - we’ve let Pochettino go to one of our biggest rivals, passed on the obvious top choice Nagelsmann, and our excuse for the above (aka Slot being our first choice the whole time) has now turned us down in favour of staying at a club in the Eredivisie with a wage bill 10x less than ours).

We are, once again, the embarrassment of the Premier League. So bored of this now.

Really worrying to think about how Levy’s reputation within the footballing world is dragging us down.
it was suggested in the last clown shoes search for a manager that ended up with Nuno that some managers weren’t interested because they quite rationally didn’t want to work with Levy.

Levy’s reputation also hurts us I believe on transfers, other clubs don’t want to deal with him. Potential managers must also be aware of this.

Nagelsman is shrewd to want assurances. The only Hope I have is that this clown circus repeat gives JN a strong hand and Levy concedes to what he wants
