Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi will debut for Toronto today. They seem too good for the league so I’m curious to see how this goes.

Bale just scored his first LAFC goal. Running in from the right, checks inside and slots it near post.

They are 0-2 up vs Kansas City.

Toronto went up 4-0 by halftime with a goal and assist from Bernardeschi and an assist from Insigne. They didn’t play the second half.

I happened to visit my Niece in North Carolina in June, and she gave me two tickets for the Charlotte vs NY Red Bulss game. I was pleasantly surprised with the vocal support, the high standard and quality of the play and subsequent result 2-0 to Charlotte. People should not knock the MLS

Does feel like this league has some momentum with names like Beckham and Bale involved and now European players in their prime joining. Been many false dawns with American soccer. But with a World Cup on the horizon as well I think this is the real deal. The financial spin offs of growing popularity of football in America for European clubs would be huge commercially.

I'm gutted. We fly into LA on October 9th at 1.45pm. Their last home game is at 2pm.
shoot if you somehow get in earlier let me know, I might be able to get extra tickets through my buddy that works with the club! normally can do it if there is some lead time. But yeah, while you are out here you should go to the greyhound for a tottenham match

MLS website says he's not taking a Designated Player spot. Which means he's signed for fairly low wages. I'm sure he'll have some big sponsorship opportunities, but I'm guessing he's basically doing this to live in Los Angeles and keep a basic match fitness ahead of that WC.
The athletic wrote a good article on it. I forgot which team did but they basically called out LAFC for doing something under the table with him. The team have a 2nd year option that would put him as a designated player on insane wages i guess. So some people think that he is getting paid peanuts this year so it makes it up next year or that they are paying him under the table in some way like how inter miami did it

Today should be Bale's home debut. LAFC vs Seattle. It's 2-1 right now, coming up to HT. Hopefully he will come on in the 2nd half.

The ref isn't very tolerant of Chiellini's brand of physicality.

Didn't do much when he came on. A few good touches but the whole team looked tired in the second half, then Vela picked up a knock but had to stay on. He did drop back and defend when necessary though, and LA won 2-1.

GB rolling back the years late in the game today... Spanish commentator likened it to his goal for Real vs Barca where he destroyed Marc Bartra. It's more like Son vs Chelsea at Wembley.

I don't want to poo poo the MLS too much but that felt like he only had about a third of the pace of that goal you mention and he still easily got round the defender.

He'll dominate that league.

Not MLS but Messi will likely make his Miami debut tonight against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
