Or we could do Barcelona absolutely no favours at all, let them keep their super-overpaid 31 year old, sit back and enjoy the schadenfreude while we can, mes que un arrogance.
Top post ! Not a player I feel we should be looking at considering the profiles of our current incomers.

It's funny, it would've taken him a few weeks back but since Don Fabio has shown us what he's capable of, I don't want him anymore.
I think we should be aiming higher than Barca deadwood.

Just be listening to Andy Brassle on Talkshite. The guy is on £14m per season. He was getting booed by the Barca fans yesterday. Barca want rid but can't offload him as no one will pay his wages and they can't/won't subsidise. Deal to be done then? Barca are also deep in the shit, despite Messi going. 95% of their income is being spent on player wages!

Umtitti was booed too.

Fans can show their frustrations at players, but its the owners who are responsible for this mess.

I might be easily swayed on such things but I'm totally sold on Paratici.
He's just what we needed and at exactly the right time.
I said it in the Kane thread before, after his Neville interview about wanting us to show ambition, we went and restructured the club, bringing in an ambitious DoF.
On top of the signings we've made so far, we can't really show much more ambition, in my opinion.
European football is on its knees and we've just signed the brightest young Spanish talent, the best defender from Italy and a promising keeper, with apparently more to come like Tomiyasu and maybe Martinez.
Getting someone like Paratici in was a massive display of ambition on its own.

Couldn't agree more, there's a pint over for you mate, but it's a bit of a way to come and collect :) ?

Massive upgrade on the likes of winks, skip, sissoko would still take him

I don't think you should include Skipp in that.
And yes, he's an upgrade on Winks and Sissoko but I think better upgrades can be found.

I like skipp, but you cant honestly believe his a upgrade on Pjanic one of the best midfielders of the past 10 years, even if he did have a poor season last, I don't even think skipp himself believes that

No, I wouldn't say Skipp is better than Pjanic, no matter how highly I rate Skippy. They are on different ends of the scale though, one will get better and one will decline.

I think it came across as if you'd sell him, because you put him with Winks and Sissoko.

Pjanic is one of those “was good, is now bad” players who people still think is good.

Also they are both 'Midfield' players but quite different in style , play and what they offer .... both good in their own right in what they offer but different type of players, so you cannot compare them as apples for apples.

While I like Pjanic, just feels like treading water when we should be rebuilding. Where has the talk around players like Sabitzer gone, younger, hungrier, talented and can build teams with. With the state of Italian football there will be quality players that Fabio can wrestle away for good value. I’d have taken Pjanic when it looked like we were flat broke and cobbling a team together, that doesn’t look like it’s the case so let’s aim higher.

One bad season at declining barca team and all the public and behind doors issues erupting left right and centre, plus he was not bought by their manager koeman and he doesnt seem to fit the right cog in koemans style either.

I think even at his best he flattered to deceive and was never consistent enough with his output to be classed in the top bracket

Sometimes it’s good to get a veteran that young players in the same position will look up to. They need to be true pros though…guys that set a good example in training, life, as well as on the pitch. I don’t know if he’s that guy but my point is sometimes during a rebuild it’s good to bring in a pro’s pro.

Edgar Davids was the perfect example of this. Plus he was a total fucking bad ass!
