We're getting there mate. Fact is we're just going through a season without European football which is hugely lucrative, and Arsenal and Liverpool will be benefitting. Liverpool in particular have had a very successful few years which has yielded them proportionally higher revenues including sponsorship deals.I don't expect us to spend the money Manchester City do but I think we should be able to match Liverpool and Arsenal's spending power. Otherwise, what was the point of the new stadium and the subsequent debt?
If we want to spend big then with the PSR rules we need to make sure our profits are proportionately big. We need to keep growing organically. The new stadium will be hugely helpful, but now we need to keep developing on the pitch and Ange seems like a good driving force to where we want to be. Another crucial factor is both our academy and player trading... if we can buy players like Udogie, Sarr, Bergvall and younger academy talents for cheap and one day sell them for sizeable profits, that will give us a big margin in PSR rules to be able to spend more.
Other clubs are shitting themselves about PSR. Those that were overspending thought they would just get a fine and be comfortable with that, but now they're getting points deductions it's full panic mode. Many of us were jealous of Chelsea's spending but now they look completely screwed when they have to finalise their annual results. If the PSR rules remain, then we will have one of the greatest spending powers of all the clubs worldwide.
Back to Ange... he's well aware of where we are and seems to be working well in tandem with Levy, Munn and Lange to all move in the right direction. I'm enjoying what Ange is doing on and off the pitch so the future is looking bright!
