Im neither Jose in or Jose out but losing whilst playing well is still losing and i hate it.

I think this sums up my feelings tonight perfectly. Obviously I’m not blind to the fact that we played considerably better today and we were actually watchable. However, we’ve conceded 5 ridiculous goals against what was actually a rubbish Everton side. We’re out of a cup now and you won’t see me celebrating the fact we scored 4 goals in a losing effort.

I'm not Mourinho out.

But at the same time i'm not jumping on the positivity train, because ultimately we have lost having conceded 5 goals.

Whatever the defensive plan was tonight has failed miserably, and Mourinho has to at least share some of the blame for that.

Mourinho experiment has failed, Spurs were better under Poch, Redknapp and even AVB (who had a better record than some remember).

Get rid, now, let Kane and Son manage the team for rest of season

We all have been crying out for attacking football. He gave us that and our defence turned to shit.

As others have pointed out I think he saw this as a free hit, realistically he probably feels Europa is our best chance now for silverware and CL. We already have one final in the bag as well.

I think this just shows that no matter how we play, we are not as good as we think we are. We have far too many average players in the squad.

I expect us to register 1 shot against City and spend 94 minutes defending. Lets see how it goes but yeah we got a very tough week coming now with 3 more away games.

Not an attack on him at all, but I thought this was funny in a tongue-in-cheek way.

I’ve been Jose out but we’ve put in two better performances attacking wise just now. The defensive mistakes are a worry but it’s the same players making mistakes who we know aren’t good enough (Lloris aside who doesn’t normally).

Rather than change manager I’d rather see the likes of Winks, Alli, Moura and Dier get moved on in the summer. I think it’s time for Davies to go too. Sanchez played ok tonight but you just never feel we are solid at the back with him there.

no new manager is coming in and getting a tune out of Doherty, Dier, Winks, Davies, Moura etc

There are just too many really poor players in our squad. We’ve got a decent first 11 but behind that it’s shocking.

Bales wages would cover the cost of two decent players, we’ve got it all wrong. Going nowhere with half of this squad. I feel bad for the likes of Reg, Kane, Tanguy, PEH, Lo Celso and Son having to play with the other lot. Such a gulf in ability.

Imagine sons dad managing the team.

They wouldn't stand a chance when they're doing 5000 keepy ups every morning.

Can't blame him tonight. Team set up looked ok, they were aggressive and wanted to get forward in numbers. And going forward looked very good I thought.
But you cannot account for individuals making countless errors. I can't put that on him. There isn't even an argument for choosing other players at the back. Because they'd have fucked up too.
I just hope this doesn't make him defer back to defensive mode. Claiming this is why we don't push players forward. Because either way these players will still make mistakes, and cost us goals and games. It won't make a difference with 4 at the back, or 10.

But it has, we are more solid defensively when we sit back, that's the long and short of it - look at our defence record.

There's definately an argument that he should be a bit more attacking against teams who we are clearly better than though.

Chelsea was a big win for the Jose haters.

Tonight was a big win for the people that passionately argued against the players.

You can't argue with either.

The most frustrating thing about tonight was that for me we played very well for large spells, and looked like we had cracked it, but following the predictable self destruct act you just know Mourinho is probably sitting on the coach right now saying never again, because he did nothing wrong tonight, just let the shackles off as he had likely been pressured to.

There are players that need to be binned but there is nothing we can do about that until the summer. So now we'll likely go back to ultra cautious play and still have that defensive weakness for the rest of the summer. Not a great cocktail.

That’s from our perspective. From Everton

0-1 Conceding a corner after 4 mins
1-1 Calvert-Lewin
2-1 Richarlison
3-1 Sigurdsson
3-2 Mina mistake
3-3 Conceding from a corner, Olsen parried it straight to Sanchez
4-3 Richarlison
4-4 No one was marking Kane, shocking defending
5-4 Bernard

What have we learnt tonight?

A, Jose cant win what ever he does! Plays boring, passive football and gets slated for it. Plays exciting attacking football, gets slated for conceding too many goals. Jose or no Jose, our defence is a shambles.
B, We massively lack quality, once winks, sissoko come on in a game, you pretty much know its over if you're chasing! Defending a lead, they'll put a shift in, but when looking for a goal they're more of a hindrance.
C, We've made some poor buys this season, baring Hojberg and regulion, the rest are yet to show anything to get excited about. Bale is looking like one of the worst decisions we've made in a long long time. Doherty is a wingback and struggles as a RB, why buy him to change his position? Rodon, one for the future and time will tell.
D, We'll likely get smashed by citeh on Sunday, they've now won 15 on the bounce and are only getting better. We then play West Ham next in the league and can anyone seriously see us getting anything from that one?

We're out of the FA cup, playing a shit hot team in league Cup final, a couple of losses away from being completely out of top 4 running. All our eggs will end up going into the europa basket, we'll wait and see how that one turns out.

Even though things are bleak, let's hope we bumble to something decent, doing it on the cheap and on a wing and a prayer!

Jose in or Jose out, tonight was not on him at all. Whoever is manager after the summer, that man needs a top CB in no matter what. I want attacking football, but I also want results, and if the defense can't be trusted when we play more expansive against Everton (no disrespect they were really good and have been all season), then to be expansive constantly won't be sustainable. Too many mistakes in the defense. I am fully endorsing a park the bus job against city, the issue I had was when we did it against palace, wolves, Brighton. Tonight was entertaining and we were the better side, but you can not account for individual errors, and most of the individuals we currently have to pick from make them far too often to see a consistently trustworthy, secure, attacking style.
