It’s actually glorious how quickly this place turns on Jose after we don’t get the result we expected. Don’t think I’ve seen it under another manager in my 13+ years on this forum.
What about when it’s 4 out of the last 5 results that we expected?

And I say that as someone who’s made more excuses for him than most.

In fairness it’s not just one result tho is it. Some of us were fed up way back. Others I think are having patience stretched to breaking/have gone past it.

It was also good enough to beat City so by that rationale we should be putting everyone to the sword.

These disparate results basically sum up a squad that is mentally weak. If the players aren't executing the coach's tactics then who is to blame?

Dont forget that these same players spent 18 months not executing Poch's tactics.

You are basing an argument on results rather than facts. We set up to beat Fulham being attacking, we set up to frustrate city and punish them. Your argument is irrelevant.

Just cut losses and sack the man before it's too late for everyone, and we completely fall out of love with football. He is killing this team in front of our eyes and we're turning a blind eye because of a lucky cup run - which will probably end with a 0-5 drubbing anyway.
What a fcuk up this is turning out to be.

I agree, I was with Jose against City and even Arsenal, that's tactics against bigger/equal sides, the rest is sheer bullshit and cowardly. There is no reason to play like that against Palace, Leicester or Fulham. Even before that we were shit since West Ham.

Absolutely livid about result tonight. I could be totally wrong here but his Jose using these games to try and build this team to be able to hold onto 1 goal leads. I just dont understand it otherwise. Cluching here.

Its fully justified, and I never wanted Jose from the start. This overreaction has been happening since the beginning of the year of last year though. Just shows how his preferred style of play is so pragmatic that it’s difficult to enjoy anything other than the win. Any other resulted and you’re left feeling pissed off you wasted 2 hours of your life on the sterile, unimaginative shit. I’m not keen to waste another season so I reckon he should stay. I still think we’ll get top 4.

It's a fair point, but we should have won that with the chances we created with the players on the pitch.

I'm all for less defensive football, but we made our deal with the devil we just have to suck it up and see if it was the right choice come May. I'm still being positive and just think we've had some patchy form all season, but so have Chelsea, Arse, Utd, City, and even pool. No one seems to be able to put a real run together.

I hope you’re right.

My faith died tonight.

I hope at the end of the season Hawkeye’s poster amalgamates all my posts from tonight and says ‘you should’ve been more patient, look how well it’s turned out’. But I don’t see it. This is the pits.

You have to call it how it is...Mourinho is far to negative, he doesn't trust the vast majority of the players to express a positive will on games. We seem totally desperate in all the games we play. WHL is to nice other team are comfortable playing in such luxury.

The facts are we weren't performing under Poch with virtually the same players playing attacking pressing football.

Under Jose we arent performing playing counter attacking, manage the game football.

What's the common denominator in the failure of these 2 tactics?

Yeah I get it. Maybe I'm just too long in the tooth to let it bother me that much. Never as good as they say you are when you win, never as bad as they say you are when you lose (or draw in this case).

Come May if we have a pot or 2 and CL football next season no-one will give a rats arse about dropping 2 points to Fulham. It's all still very much game on in a totally unpredictable season.

Very hard to see us getting top 4 unless something fundamental changes. We're getting worse, not better. And that's with Kane and Son playing every game. One injury to either and it would be hard to see us winning any match.

We could all see Fulhams goal coming and the manager chose not to bring subs on to regain the initiative - why?

The way we sit back and give the opposition possession is terrible to watch and proving unsuccessful. Of the eleven players selected 3 were creative, possibly 4 if you include Reggie. Let's change that balance and go on the front foot. I'm not sure Mourinho has the courage to make the change? The players certainly can't enjoy continually being under pressure with these negative tactics

Tactics-wise, what do with Mourinho do differently if he was just angling for his next severance package? We are just a Burnley with better players. A total waste of talent.

It's tough to concede late and draw but if we score late to equalise the mood is better. End of the day the outcome is the same.

Because once you have a dip in form there is no coming back from it? A couple of good wins (who saw the results vs Utd, Arse and city coming?) and we are right back in the mix.

This is true, but it isn’t relevant to the reality of our situation. The reality is we are consistently starting well and going up in games against lesser opposition and then sitting off and letting them back in. There’s a reason it has happened this way round so often. Our approach is fundamentally wrong, and it’s costing us.

Also it's hard to change the minset it's Fulham at home we should batter them or it's City at home we will struggle. Ultimately it doesn't matter how good the opponent is as we play the same

Advantage over playing a better side is they give us more chances. The disadvantage is they normally create better opportunities and have better players to score which is why we are currently designed as a cup team

We are in good situation in FA Cup, Europa League. We are in final of Carabao. We are 6 points behind leaders, he isn’t killing our team.

In this game, possession was fairly equal, shots taken and on target fairly equal but what we must not forget is we created or was given bigger and better chances to score than we conceded yet we only converted 1 of them. This game should have been 3-1

Now do we blame mourinho for son and kane missing above average chances or do we say they are fuckin human and just can't convert everything

The worry I'm is when we don't create these chances. If that happens and mourinho still plays defensive minded players then I'll take issue
