I just think our primary targets will cost too much. The only players who are even close to being good enough are being valued way too high. As Trix said clubs would rather sell bench players than star players. We're not getting bench players to replace Kane so if the star players are way too expensive it's not really worth it. I know people love Vlahovic for example even though most only googled him for the first time a couple of months ago but he's not worth even half of Kane. The biggest concern is that we do what Barca did when they lost Neymar and sign 2 overly expensive players who turn out to be flops (admittedly more due to injuries than talent). Anything less than 3 top quality signings with the money is just not worth it in my view. If we're failing to get both Martinez and Vlahovic with money to spare (which i think is fair for what Kane is worth) for example then there aren't many good options left. Also these better players get harder to sign late in the window because teams need top replacements in time. I just think time has run out on this one and we're best to stick with Kane.

Dumbest question did we match his ambition? Well yes because we got him to a Champions League Final unfortunately he didn't turn up to it. Then brought in a serial cup winner and brought back Gareth Bale got to the top of the league and another final. With us he's achieved the Captaincy of his country and lost another final. I don't know what else we could have done to help him achieve his ambition.

Very true. But we surely can't be seen to sell him for way below his true value? They were only offering £100 million up until last week! That wouldn't supercharge the squad imo! To replace him would cost £160 million or more, that is why I presume that levy wants that much.

Just look at the cost of the 2, relatively unproven, players that we have supposedly been looking at! Not much change out of £160 million with no guarantee that they would even be able to replace Kane. We have a player that will score and create between 40 and 50 goals next season. That has a value.
I agree. His market value has to be met, which is around £150m. And if it isn't, then we keep him. Simple really.

Agree. I think Levy did everything he could within his means. Mourinho. Bale. Reguilon. N'dombele. Lo Celso. These are big, big ambitious signings. The whole thing just didn't work out. Not Levy's fault. If anyone's to blame at all (and I'm not blaming him), it's Jose.

We probably should have benched him for both finals ?

He has been in 3 Cup finals (I think), numerous semis, 2 league title races. He's been in a European final with England. He's been shit in every one of those games. Literally, shit! Does he want it handed on a plate to him?

How many big games has he played well in? He's a great player don't get me wrong, but trying to blame everybody else for his lack of trophies is just incorrect. When it has really come down to it, he hasn't produced. Perhaps he isn't a winner, not the teams he has played in?

What will it be next, demanding German/spanish/Italian citizenship so that he can win something at international level? Then getting his brother to go on hunger strike outside the passport office if they say no?

It was an epically stupid argument to make. In effect, he is implying that Harry Kane was sold a false bill of goods. Thereby, Spurs have somehow broken their end of the deal, making the agreement null and void. Firstly, there would never be a single word in a contract about if 'you sign this, we promise to match your ambition. if we don't you can leave for whatever the other team wants to buy you for. so sorry we didn't surround you with the players to win everything. for shame. for shame. for shame. With love, Danny.'
Secondly, this is also supposing that Harry has no part to play in matching his own ambition. Sorry, but it's not like he hasn't had chances to show up and do his bit.
Thirdly, how much is City paying this clown to be their mouthpiece?

Its also interesting that the media narrative has begun to turn against him. Both Agbonlahor and Micah Richards have got stuck into him as well as several other journos and pundits.

Ultimately, he has built brand kane on his honesty and integrity, but it comes at a price. You have to behave in a certain way. He has lost that now, forever. His reputation and image are tarnished.

I'll cheer the team on and I'll always hope that he scores, but I'll never see him in the same way again. I hope that the fans never sing his song again. In fact, they should sing it about Son, Lloris,Tanganga, Dier or even Dele. They have all shown far more loyalty than Kane. All of those could have had big money moves. Dele and Dier could have been in the press demanding moves when they were dropped and lost their England places, but they didn't. They have knuckled down and got on with it despite huge criticism from the media and our own fans.

No, Kane is a self-serving arse who really doesn't deserve the adulation that he has previously received. I wont forgive or forget.

Certainly seeing that In the CLF he hadn't played since the first half of the quarter final and not match fit. Lucas should have started Kane should have come for the last half hour. I don't blame him solely for the LCF as he put in a shift all season and worked hard all over over the pitch and looked tired come the end of the season.

I'd still be happy if he stayed but there's a lot of humble pie to be consumed.

I think Fabio really has messed up here big time with waiting to long to go for Martinez and Vlahovic. All through transfer window we have been told that Levy has not been involved with transfers but what has changed we are still into the season with our new DOF not making to much progress at all. Still going into the final 2 weeks of the window scratching around and not seeming to be getting anywhere. About to lose Kane with no replacements lined up or should I say we wasted to much time and now they are either staying at their clubs or looking to go somewhere else.

So much for the buyers market we can't even agree a fee for tomiyasu. So if the targets we have been chasing don't want to come were does that leave us when we are waving goodbye to Kane.

I think Fabio if he hasn't already is starting to realise it's one thing negotiating deals at Juventus but a completely different scenario at Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea bought inter's striker. They then didn't need to sell. Is the lad going to play ahead of Son? Or even Moura? How do you sell that to someone?

If kane stays, vlahovic will be on the bench most of the time. How do you sell that to someone,

Ultimately these deals were really dependant on the kane deal. The kane deal hasn't materialised, so those deals have gone dead.

I feel like people are just overreacting to no new reports. Both striker targets are still available and haven't signed contract extensions meaning that they're clearly waiting for something. We're clearly waiting for something. Just need the first domino to tumble. There's so much time left in the window. I'm not panicking yet.

our sanctioning of kanes sale should only be done if our targets are in. The kanes and shitty have been dragging this out for way too long. If they paid the price from the beginning, all these nonsense wouldn't have happened.

why should we accept whatever offer shitty give this late. Whatever sums of money, however huge means didly squat if we can't get the right buys in. Kanes funding OF our budget is crucial to our next phase, but more importantly it's what what we do with it that counts!!!!

If Kane leaves i wonder if we now with Vlahovic price going sky high. would you rather see us come back to Thuram, Paratici will 100% try to go for Kulusevski or Berardi then we are able to get Damsgaard for 30-35m, Aarons and top centerback for the same kind of money 80-90m vlahovic or Martinez will cost.

Thuram 25m
Berardi/Kulusevski 40m
Damsgaard 30m
Aarons 30-35m
Kounde 30m + Sanchez

Would be the same money as for Kane
