We are talking about how bad Lazio's fans are, but compare to this is just...I'm speechless.

Grenade thrown onto field at Asian Champions League soccer match​

From rioting to setting things ablaze, crazed soccer fans have committed countless dangerous acts in recent years. But this one may trump them all.​

Fans threw all kinds of objects onto the pitch at an Asian Champions League quarterfinal match between Sepahan FC (Iran) and al-Ahli SC (Saudi Arabia) in Iran, including, of all things, a live explosive.​

Watch as Sepahan midfielder Adel Kolahkaj (40) casually tosses the small explosive off the field as though it were a stray beanbag. But the instant it hits the ground, it blows up, sending the stunned players and officials running for cover. (Watch the video below.)​

The match, which was briefly halted after the grenade went off, ended in a goalless draw. The account of the match on the Asian Football Confederation Web site makes no mention of the stoppage.​

How did it not go off when it was thrown from the crowd, yet when he throws it merely 2 meters it explodes?

Timed rather than impact trigger? It may have just had a few seconds delay from triggering to exploding, either way that player wont be picking things up again.

not a grenade at all. it was a homemade firework. you see these things all the time in Iran. they mainly smoke and if you watch the video, they freeze the frame when it ignites so it looks bad. it was a glorified smoke bomb and certainly a lit tamer than the flares you see all over Europe. nothing to see here.

Yeah a glorified smoke bomb that could have caused some serious burn injuries. Even fireworks have kiiled people in the past............

I've thrown a few grenades and the explosion didn't look too far off. It may be a smoke bomb but grenades don't make huge explosions like you see in the movies.
