So we are mad Conte said the same thing a lot of us have been saying for awhile now? A lot of which is widely agreed with and understood to be the real issue.

Not really. I haven't said that was anyone's ambition. Just that it'd be a step up from where we are under "elite" manager Conte.

Yeah it’s definitely Conte’s abilities as a manager which are the issue.

Hence why we’ll snidely deem him “elite” in inverted commas.

He’ll go on to win shit elsewhere. Just like Jose did.

Because he’s a winner.

We are a circus act, addicted to losing and run by a fucking clown.

The man is literally playing the most cowardly football in the league. Sets us up playing low block and counter vs bottom of the league clubs (home and away) and then freaks out about them not being in control and not "having fire in their eyes and hearts"... He is conditioning them to be cowards by the way we play.

If you play negative, grinding football that sucks the enjoyment out of the game and burns players out emotionally then there's not much chance of it working at a club who's mottos are "The game is about glory" and "To dare is to do".

After Pochettino burned out we needed a manager to bring the enjoyment back into the club and for the club to intelligently invest big money into fixing the defence which originally had been the foundation on which Poch had built his success. Instead we brought in two "winners" to try nick some silverware but who play negative, grinding football that sucks the enjoyment out of the game and burns players out emotionally. We failed to fix the defence and still heavily rely on the likes of Dier, Sanchez and Davies while also spending long periods of time with miserable full back options.

To compound that failure to fix the defence, both managers played to our weakness in defence rather than to our strengths in attack. Add in the fans becoming progressively turned off or even hostile to the lack of attacking footy and you get a toxic spiral.
Gareth Bale called this after Jose. No wonder he didn't hang about:

At least nobody will now be talking about us throwing away the win. Part of his plan I reckon.

Just seen that press conference and honestly f**k Antonio Conte

There are some truths in what he said but doing that in a press conference is a pretty embarrassing way to deflect from your own uselessness

Should be sacked yesterday

Just seen the result having been out all afternoon.

Fired up YouTube and saw his post match press rant - talk about doing a Mourinho and throwing the players under the bus!

I realise he’s emotional post loss, but IMHO it would be better for all parties to just part company now!

And then he has the audacity to moan about them not improving.

Listen from 4th minute on, he is 100% calling out the players more than he is Levy. And I agree with him!

Spurs media like Ali Gold, Dan Kilpatrick, Charlie Eccleshare, Jack Pitt-Brooke etc. constantly dig out the manager as soon as things go wrong and never once question if the players are good enough.

It's become quite clear, as Conte says, that it doesn't matter one bit who the manager is because the players just aren't good enough! They dont have the ability, the heart, the mindset or the balls to win anything!

Please god this finally sinks in with people and we sent a huge chunk of these players packing, as we wont get anywhere with them.

best scenrio for me is that he's sacked, doesn't agree to any pay off and therefore any agreement to keep his gob shut, then he goes on a total rampage against Enic/Levy and totaly exposes what really happens at our club off the pitch.

Tbh this is perfect isn’t it, conte will go but he’s gone out swinging at the board so if levy doesn’t get this next one right that’s it all the heat now goes towards the board, it’s the best thing that could’ve happened in a way for him to do this publicly.

THST will be all over these quotes haha.

That being said Conte was never the right fit just like Jose and Nuno clones before him.

Time for a positive attacking manager please.

It’s what we wanted from him when he joined though isn’t it?

Even throughout last summer there were loads of us saying Conte was levy’s last roll of the dice. We really shouldn’t lose sight of that.

I’d be astounded if he isn’t sacked next week after this.

And I don’t even use the word astounded

The situation we are in reminds me of the Tory party - everyone can see it’s a shit-show, but nobody has the bollocks to do anything about it…

It's hard to argue.

And he's not alone in thinking it - this is from 2018, after Juve beat us 2- 1 at Wembley to knock us out the CL

"Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini says he knew his team would beat Tottenham because Spurs "always miss something at the end". It's the history of Tottenham. We knew Tottenham have fantastic players and are an amazing side - but they concede many chances every game."

Changing the manager changes what, exactly?

If you think the abject failure of this club over the past 20 years is “as much” to do with Antonio Conte, then you should stop paying all that money for those tickets, because you’ve clearly not understood what you’ve been watching.
The abject "failure" is a combination of many issues.

From spurs having to rebuild, post scholar, to having to deal with the market being shifted away due to the introduction of Russian oligarchs and state ownership.

We haven't been able to compete for decades. It feels like we have gotten closer.

I don't understand? I'm fully aware, I'm not losing my shit over it. However, Conte is showing no ownership to his own issues, which stem largely from his inability to change when things aren't working.

I've sat in the stands for over 23 years now, and I don't "get it". What don't I get? Please explain.

The problem stems from a multitude of issues, not purely the owners. However, conte could just take some bloody responsibility for once.
