All the best managers are terrible terrible losers. When it happens they say ridiculous and often insulting things.

When their cycle is up those things that before could motivate and create unity will often have the opposite effect.

It's a fascinating line they have to walk. I'm not sure if Contes remarks will be effective or they're just designed to get him out of there but they can easily be construed either way.

Say what you want but he's not wrong. He'll fuck off in the summer and we'll hire someone else, but we're going to be in this same position again in 18 months time.

The Conte vitriol from fans is music to Levy's ears now - in fact, it's probably why he hasn't sacked him. The more people think Conte is the main problem the more it deflects away from the actual problem (Levy).

Not saying I think Conte should stay (I think it's now clear that it's just a bad fit), but as a fanbase I think we need to keep focus on the actual issues rather than just blaming manager after manager.
