What can you say about that.

A lot to like about our effort and front foot football for a lot of the game.

A lot to dislike about our defending, individual weakness/errors costing us big time.

Hard to fault the lads or Jose tonight, even for the mistakes really as certain players just aren't good enough and we all know it.

The main issue I have which hasn't been mentioned is bringing on sissoko at right back. That was the one position where the space was yet that position was occupied by a player with awful technique and void if any ideas and imagination
I'm not sure what other sub he could have made. Maybe I would have subbed Sissoko instead of Winks for Ndombele and left Doherty at RB.

Honestly I’ve been saying it for ages. He rarely makes saves. Ordinary stuff is fine but anything in corners teams score. He conceded 5 from 7 shots on targets. Other 3 were comfortable saves from headers.
Hes on the decline. I still think hes Ok for now but with 1 year left we should be looking for his successor for next season.

I just dont know how we afford all the players we need. GK, CB, CM probably a striker too.

Not sure how they didn't give our penalty but have them theirs...

Im pretty sure that there wasnt even a VAR in operation tonight. I thought Sanchez equaliser was offside but to give them their pen and then not ours is mind blowing.

Dele doesn't deserve so much criticism, manager hardly plays him and expects results in a big game, Winks is just not very good, but some of our better players fall under the radar for their shit contributions, I mean Son is a reasonable goal scorer, but he can't hold the ball up or pass it properly in the final third.

I can see why Jose wants to play 10 men back defending, the actual 4 man defence is shit, and Lloris doesn't look like he gives a shit anymore, never comes out to get the ball just stands on his line like a **** waiting for a header into the corner of the net

Serious question here ..... when was the last time we beat a half decent side ? And by that I mean a top half team who actually you look at and think they are going for top 6 this year this will be tough ? I can’t remember ? Arsenal ? If so it’s embarrassing
The current league leaders?

you say that as if CMs only responsibility is to attack.

A player cannot be at 2 places at the same time. If you want the team to press high, and play attacking football, there will be space between the CMs and the defenders. And any attacking opponent with more speed than a cow will have a field day in that space.

I know I'm echoing the rest here when I say it, but this is what happens when we attack. Goals at both ends.

I’m absolutely gutted. Got a horrible feeling things go off the rails from here. Genuinely thought we had a shot at winning this, and after that start was feeling really good... and then it just went suicidal. Angles wrong, soft wrists, shots through legs. Bad luck, and then a massive rally and it felt like everything was going our way, piling on the pressure, and twice pulled it back. To lose after all that feels almost worse than not turning up... but that fifth going in was just a sucker punch we weren’t getting back up from. Like I said, gutted. It’s the hope that kills you. Every time.

And this is why I have the username I have. You could cut and paste what you've written into so fucking many competitions we've been knocked out of or lost over the last 30 years. Its just typical spurs.

Its doesnt matter what players weve had over the years (and we have had great players) or what manager we have had to mentor said players, it is always the same. The only consistent aspect of this football club over the past 2 decades has been the owners. Yes i know they dont directly impact our results on the pitch and we can chop and change manager but nothing will change....groundhog day for spurs, always the nearly club!

The rule was changed mid season to soften it. I can't recall if that was after Diers one though

I thought I'd heard that. Absolutely incredible to change the rules part way though an official competition. Should've awarded us the 3pts at the same time if they're going to do that.

I'm disappointed, not upset. Its asking a lot for us to maintain 3 cup runs with the fixture congestion. You cannot fault the players efforts.

I thought dele added nothing though and winks was massively at fault for the 5th.
