I think it's a combination of a number of factors. Firstly we have some good youngsters who deserve first team football somewhere. Secondly we have a manager who is willing to play them. Thirdly we had a much larger, more experienced squad just a year ago and team was going backwards. I think Poch realised that it was Soldado, Adebayor and Paulinho who were failing to take the club forward so he went for Mason, Dier and Kane. If we had Man City's budget we may well have tried to buy in seven more players again but that option wasn't there. Most of us are pretty pleased with the way things are going and I for one definitely want Poch to stay the course and see where this young team can get us to. The squad is relatively small so we need to be lucky with injuries.I think it's true that Poch has no fear in giving youth a chance, also it's true, that those he has given chances to this year, have grabbed them, and that's what you have to do, if you want success as a player in today's game, with competition for places and all that........
I do wonder however, what would have happened if Poch had been given the Bale money?
Would he have gone to the Claudio Ranieri sweet shop of the old Chelski days, buying everything in sight, or would he still take the same, give youth a chance, approach.
Is this a case of, needs must, or is this our new policy, or a bit of both even?
