When I want to make myself sad I think about what Ange could've done with Dele. I know personal responsibility is needed, but I think Mourinho was the worst possible person for him at that time. Last thing he needed was being blamed for not working in a shite system that had little place for him.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there is something on the richy deal. Either that or we allow them to structure the deal differently and end up giving us more longer term. No way Levy just lets them have Dele for free.

Keep seeing video montages of Dele's goals.........where the feck did he go wrong? He really should have been a world beater, and the more I watch the more kerfuffled I become - scored some of the best goals I've ever seen and then just fell off a cliff edge when he discovered girls!

Poch started using Dele as more of a box to box midfielder than a second striker once Dembele left, and the injuries (and pills) didn't help much either.

Physically and mentally abused as a kid, pretty much left to live a feral life. He did remarkably well to drag himself out if it but it caught up with him. He's been struggling for a few years but is finally getting help

Watching that was more than just a little emotional. There are tears in the eye, first of joy at the unbridled passion and skill and those goals, then in sadness as he sits with Jose, and that interview on the Overlap has them on the cheeks. It's hard to believe he's still only 27 and impossible to work out the cost to him of Poch going, of the breakdowns under the following guys... It feels like so long since he's been any of that stuff, those goals, some of that creative vision. Good lord what a player he was. I hope he finds the peace in his off-pitch life and somehow, if he chooses to keep going, it translates onto the pitch because I'd love nothing more than to see him battering Chelsea and Arsenal and all the others for six months and just falling in love with the game all over again.

He was poor long before porch went, probably 12-18months before porch left he was poor.
