Hate these games. My wife is a huge Pool fan. And ever since we have been together Spurs havent won. She is also the world’s kindest and sweetest human being. And hates it more than me, ‘cos it upsets her that I get bummed when we always lose. She’d literally be the only Liverpool supporter in the world who’d probably be happy if they lost, just to see me happy as she feels it’s her fault we always lose. Bless.

But when not playing us… man, I thought my temper was bad when our boys play shite. She tears them myriad new assholes. But then again she’s a fighting Fraser… so, ‘‘tis in her blood! 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️

Going to be super tough.

They're stronger than us up front.
Defences probably similar, albeit theirs more established
We might have a marginal edge in midfield

Need to really own the MF or we'll struggle

I think there’s been a fair amount of overrating of them in this thread. They started the season very slowly and up until the last minute turnaround against Newcastle (who should’ve been out of sight) they were playing really poorly.

They’ve picked it up recently and seem to have found their best front three which to no surprise is Salah, Nunez and Diaz. Their midfield is still light though and as good as Szoboszlai is, Macallister has not been great for them and whoever becomes the third man is a real weak link.

The key will be stopping Trent spreading the play, just a top tier passer of the ball - arguably the best in the league, and if we can stop him then we stop a lot of their attacks.

Defensively is where they will struggle if we push high and press, whoever plays LW is going to be key as, along with Udogie, they should be able to cause lots of problems down their right side where Trent is weak defensively.

I have a suspicion this is the one we get "found out". I think due to them being far more clinical up front than anything we have faced so far, we will give them too many chances and ultimately succumb.

We have had to come from behind already too often for my liking and I just don't see it happening this time.

That said, I still look forward to watching the game (which makes a change) and whilst my head says we lose 1-3, my heart says we win 5-2!

Hopefully (fingers crossed) 55k Spurs fans, or at least 40k supporters will provide the edge. Support.

We emerged from the Emirates unscathed and passed a test a lot of pundits and one in particular thought we would fail horribly. Six games in, no defeats and another huge test on the horizon. Liverpool visit us as the only PL team that we have failed to beat at the THS. We are in good form, creating chances and scoring goals but so are Liverpool, who have won five out of six so far. They have had three home and three away games while we have had four away and just two at home. In their away games they have had a draw at Stamford Bridge where the likes of Forest and Villa have won and wins at Wolves and Newcastle in games that could have easily gone a different way. They are full of goals and will be a real threat but they have also been giving up a lot of chances as well. The crowd will be vociferous, our players charged up and ready and it will be a close game but I just feel like it's time for them to join the club and take an "L at our home ground. Tottenham Hotspur 3 Liverpool 2. COYS!

Hate this game almost more than the NLD. Hate these ****s more than anyone else, surrounded by the pricks in Ireland.

We've had no luck against them in recent seasons, case in point last season at Anfield, the ball seems to always fall their way, ever since the CL final in 2019.

We're due some good fortune against them. Let this be the time it does.

Up the fucking Spurs
You are spot on there Mental. I'm from Belfast where every fucking dog in the street is a fucking bin dipper.

They are the most arrogant bunch of fans that you will ever come across as well and they honestly believe that they are special. I'd take a win against them than a win over arsenal every day of the week.

I'm heading over to the Algarve for a boys weekend on 13th October. There are 12 of us heading off and 8 of them are dippers so I'd absolutely love it to be heading away having the bragging rights over them.

And as you say, a bit of luck against them is long overdue. It always seems to go against us in this game.

For any SC'ers lucky enough to be going to the game, please shout and sing that little bit louder this weekend to push our boys over the line.

COYS.

Gonna be tough. Someone needs to sit on trent stopping him playing which will leave Udogie 1v1 vS salah.
If someone is sitting on Trent that will probably be in hospitality since he's injured. Maybe they can watch the game and have a meal together. I nominate Eric Dier for the job.

I believe Trent was ok for last night but they decided not to use him. Saving him for our game.

Somehow I want to win this one more than the NLD. Again, I don't think there's anything for us to be "found out" with. There's no hidden trick or anything going on with us, we're simply playing without fear and sticking to our style. Maybe they'll over power us in the final third, but I think we're a match for anyone with this first XI.

I have to disagree.

The reason they havent looked assumes at times is simply because the new players are adjusting.

Just like the way we have conceded some chances. New players are adapting.

I caught some of their game last night and they are starting to get back to the level they had been at.

Their midfield is up there now, which had been the problem.

Szoboszlai is absolute class.
Endo is doing a very solid job at DM.
Gravenberch seems to be fittng in well too.

Their attacking line has so many options and even Nunez is scoring huge goals now.

The reason their defence looked poor was because the midfield couldnt maintain good Energy and they got exposed. That is improving game by game.

They will finish above Arsenal easily for me. They may even push City to the line again.

If we lose, we shouldnt be too down as this is the second best team in the league and we have a way to go.

Having said that, we will go toe-to-toe with them

I’m strangely optimistic about this. They’ve looked very good in attack in spells but mostly at home, and even then they’ve given up chances at the back. Really they can think themselves fortunate to have taken maximum points from their last 2 away games. If they start slowly on Saturday as they did at SJP and Molineux then we’ll get at them and take the initiative.

In any event I think it’s going to be a cracking game.
