This sounds much closer to the truth imo. He is clearly being offered about and which club would outright say no? We are clearly hedging our bets for our preferred targets which I believe are GLC and Dybala. I would also like to think that we will go for both regardless of CE.

Can't see us offering £80m for a player that would have little sell-on value, which also shows that our over-valuation of Eriksen's value (offered for 80m to Man U with only one year of contract left) has basically hindered any potential sale for him.

Wouldnt be surprised if we contact Barca again and see if they lowered that demand before really calling this one off.
