It is becoming more clear who should be in Pochs plans and who not.

Players that offer not enough for us:

- Vlad Chiriches
- Paulinho
- Emmanuel Adebayor (Soldado)
- Aaron Lennon (Townsend)

I doubt we find a lot of interest in these palyers especially with our and their conditions, but there is no real point in playing them.

Instead we need at least two goalscoring options.

- Jay Rodriguez
- Quality Center Forward (Not easy to find eh?)
- Chiriches can be replaced with our youth players (Milos, Ball, Ogilvie, CCV)
- And then maybe try once more for Schneiderlin and give Bentaleb a Premier League loan

But as we know our winter activity we will end up with not more than one addition.

I think a schneiderlin type player should be priority because no one actually play the ball forward out of the players we have

We need some serious midfield upgrades.

Poch will be a lot clearer about who can/cannot apply his methodology in matches by Christmas. But like you said, he will need to balance not only how many he lets go (or will have suitors) but how many he can tell he wants to let go without fear of alienating some that may end up not leaving.

Maybe a case of just taking offers on any that come along, as seemed to be the case in the summer.

As in the words of (the mighty) Tim Sherwood, they're all much of a muchness...

Striker and WF would also be nice though :D

If the season is already 'lost' by January, then I'm all for shrinking the squad, and promoting youth. If we do delve into the transfer market then we must look for pace, passing ability and the right attitude as in work ethic and strength of character.

Wanting to offload in January may work in our favour as team's first choices won't in all likelihood move until the summer, so maybe some teams will take a punt on the likes of Paulinho and Chiriches..... at a loss mind you!

Sell Paulinho, sign Schneiderlin.

Sell Townsend or Lennon, sign Jay Rodriguez.

Sell Vlad. We don't even need a replacement, Dier can take over 4th CB duty.

There is no way we will have that much transfer activity in the January transfer window. It's not only us, no club will. The market during Jan is artificially inflated due to it being a sellers market as most buys are in desperation. Definitely not the kind of market Levy will want to dip into.

Schneiderlin is out of our league now, both in price and other interested clubs. Unfortunately. Should have stumped up the cash and bought him in the summer.

Anyway, this is still a little early-Stambouli hasn't settled and started in the prem yet. Could be the answer. Lets have a little patience.

But we should go for a couple of players that Poch has identified for his style. Whoever it is. If he wants them we get them. Whether or not they are a little expensive or whether it is a player we all go 'meh, theyre shit' based on our pre concieved opinion . Get him in his players-i don't care about the name and experience and the value (or lack of) on this occasion. Buy whoever he feels he can work with mould and implement his style with. And if he decides he wants no changes in January and wants a settled until the summer team then we accept that too.

Exactly! Schneiderlin and Rodriguez are never happening in January..

Most people still want Rodriguez? Chadli's four goals in five games doesn't therefore suffice? Interesting....

I think it just adds another option, I wouldn't have him purely to replace Chadli. We suffered from not having a back up left forward last night-Lennon and Townsend arent the answer. Will be good for rotation as well, and good competition for our existing Attacking mids.

Plus he has shown he can flourish in Pochs system. Think he'd be decent for the squad...

It will be interesting to see who is shipped out in January as it will give a good indication of the areas poch feels we need to strengthen in.
We all have our own views but it's the coach who has to live with the decisions.
It may be that there won't be much movement if poch thinks he needs longer to assess the squad.
Personally though I'd be very surprised if there were no exits.

If we are looking at buying more midfielders we need to look at the person in charge of the buying because we have signed plenty.

if we just loaned Vlad and Paulinho out id be relieved. Soldado too as we cant persist with a striker who is scared of getting into the opposition penalty box!

Few clubs do a huge amount of transfers in January.

If we can make one positive signing I'd be delighted.

Rodriguez's contract is running down so he's a maybe though I think Chadli will have a good season.
