You can see from the bbc shows that he’s not that nice constantly telling shearer and lineaker to shut up, he’s had anger management issues, she stamped on schmichel, he’s a very jealous angry little man
They are friends and that's what they call banter.

It's like Shearer talking about his scoring records in front of them, it's not arrogance, it's banter

Yea I get that it’s banter but also why is he constantly swearing on a bbc show? No need. + all the other points I mentioned. He seems quite angry and vindictive and arrogant and he didn’t come across well at all when I met him at an event. I also met Harry redknapp, Garth crooks, souness, jenas, Ljunberg who were all very polite and giving with their time and the way they behaved, Ian Wright was a bit of an embarrassment tbh. Jenas was a legend but was a bit harsh on himself saying how he should’ve got more England caps and doesn’t think he fulfilled his potential. Harry was a top top bloke and I said how his spurs team played such good stuff and he said yea those were great times I had some fantastic players. Souness was also an absolute legend and we talked all sorts about his playing career and punditry and managerial career etc top top bloke.

Mate, that is a total misread.
Perhaps regarding the “shut up” comment sure if he meant that as banter but it’s his whole persona, and as I said he’s had anger management issues for ages, he’s pretty arrogant, he swears for no need, the stamp he did on Schmichel could’ve ended his career very few players would go into w challenge with that sort of malice, I’ve also met him at an even recently along With many other football pundits and ex pros etc and he was drunk and acting like a complete prick to be quite honest and a lot of people were looking at him thinking it was embarrassing so sorry but my view is influenced by how he behaved at the event that I met him at.

Swearing in and of itself doesn't equate to anger, it's just how a lot of people talk when they're among friends and feel comfortable. The entire atmosphere on these MOTD podcasts is completely different to the TV appearances and, as others have said, there's loads of lighthearted banter and ribbing going on. I actually think it's a great laugh - they seem to genuinely be good mates and almost seem to forget they're being recorded at times.

I appreciate he might be a bit of a knob sometimes at events or whatever - I'm sure lots of people are on occasion - and I'm sure he's far from perfect. But in general, based on his TV and podcast appearances, I think he comes across as a genuine, funny, heart-on-his-sleeve kind of bloke.

Maybe he's just one of those people that rubs you up the wrong way. No harm in that.

What on earth he has got to be jealous of in the careers of Shearer and Linekar I dont know he won far more in his career than either of those two players . He might be angry I dont know of course but jealous I dont think so.

Yes it seems to me that the BBC lot actually have quite good chat. Just look for compilation of Linekar introducing the panel for fa cup matches, he always says what they accomplished in the competition as an intro, 'and Alan Shearer'. :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure we've all missed the fair and balanced Gillette Soccer Saturday, here are some of todays gems:

Harry Kane coming back from a major injury, hasn't played a PL game for 6 months. Surely there will be a question about that first......

Stelling opens with "A frustrating night for Harry Kane, virtually non-existent, is there a danger of him being isolated & disillusioned under Jose!! (n)

Merson of course agrees with his inside knowledge of what Harry thinks about Jose taking the job.
He'll need to have a serious think at the end of the season...meaning please sell him Spurs.

Any qualifying responses from Stelling like, COVID19 has changed the transfer environment, who could afford him, isnt he under contract for a number of years and Daniel Levy stated there will be no big name departures.....of course not that would spoil the usual narrative.

Merse also thinks the whole team is unhappy, he's really worried about us and that the new stadium (didn't bother to mention Arsenal haven't paid for theirs yet) will be a huge problem for us.

Also Bruno is a great player but we won't mention he's a diver.

Im not a Footballer so I dont have an insight into there mindsets. But how easy it is for a player to go form the football we were playing, the slick creative football to the football we have been playing both on the decline under Poch to the *could be seen as negative* football under Jose? I get they get paid loadsa dosh and should get on with it, but is there a mentality question where a player goes says to themselves *Do I want something new now?* We still have so many players who were in that exciting footballing side still around. While I dont agree the *side* is unhappy it is food for thought on a more individual player platform.

Funny that pre game on Friday Night both pundits said United 100% for the win and then after the game they both said it was a better result for United. Honestly hate skysports so much.

The style of football was pretty poor or at least very pedestrian during the last season and a half, maybe two under Poch - it is difficult to really say how a style of football affects players' psychology but I think that winning matches is probably the most important factor.

Early in his career one of jose's lauded qualities was having the charisma and man management skill to be able to persuade huge stars to buy into his version of the game.

One of the criticisms he has faced later on in his career was that for what ever reason (loss of passion/enjoyment of the game) he can't seem to re create that.

I think if it isn't getting results the players get bored incredibly quickly. Let's hope the results come.

Sky are just pathetic Neville commentating Keane and Evra in the studio now that's a really balanced panel is it not ?
Also it was at our stadium surely it would have been possible to find one ex spurs player to comment on the game. seemingly not .

For me this season VAR hasn't been the real problem. The rules are nonsense.

The handball rule has always been contentious. Does it have to be deliberate? Is the arm in an unnatural postion? etc.

But the new rule is if the ball hits the hand in the buildup to a goal it is automatically disallowed. For me this is BS. It either is handball or it isn't, what happens afterwards shouldn't affect this.
Got 5 disagrees for this opinion. Now we have had most of the season to assess the new handball rule, what do we think?

You were right in the first place. What made yesterdays particularly farcical, was the foul on Moura that made him fall over in the first place. How is it sporting to disallow a goal in those circumstances? Crazy

For me, it should be, Ball to hand: ok. Deliberate Hand to ball: not ok.
