Livermore Recalled By Tottenham

Posted on: Tue 02 Mar 2010
Peterborough United have been dealt a blow after midfielder Jake Livermore was recalled from parent Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Redknapp's men have been decimated by injuries in recent weeks with Aaron Lennon, David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas and Tom Huddlestone all out.

We thank Jake for his efforts on behalf of the football club.

Not a bad idea. We cant recall from a fellow Premier League side, so Livermore is probably the next best thing after O'Hara. Not sure if he is ready for EPL action, but should be ready for an FA Cup tie.

Good news, the boy puts his foot in where it matters and he will be raring to go! As for Bostock, I think people are forgetting just how young he is. He just turned 18 in January and he will get his chance eventually. Livermore is 21 I believe and will have a little more experience and mental strength.

Livermore was 20 in November.

But hey, Huddlestone racked up a number of appearences for us at 19.

But would playing him be a better option than say, putting Charlie in midfield and Walker or Benny at RB? (Genuine question as I don't really know how good Livermore is).

I've liked Livermore since I first saw him years ago for the u18s. Strong, not bad on the ball, committed, gets forward and uses his frame well.

He's scored for Spurs against Barca. How many players have we got that can claim that?

Personally i prefer to keep players in their natural position. But like you, i haven't seen enough of Livermore to be sure. Maybe he is only coming back as cover. If we pick up another knock, or Palacios gets suspended, we'll be short. Especially in the FA Cup with Walker and Kaboul cup tied aswell. So it could just be a backup option like with Danny Rose.

I think walker is cuptied for the FA cup and after seeing Benny at RB last week against Bolton it's clear he only has a right leg for balance.

From what i remember, Livermore did quite well in Pre season and looked a decent player.

Personally, i think we may be forced on saturday at least, to play Modric in the center alongside Wilson, with Rose and Nicko on the flanks.

Just remembered, Can't EG play CM as well?

I'm well pleased at this - assuming he's not cup-tied this could be the extra piece in the jigsaw that gets us the FA Cup

Good move i think. I assume he was looked at ahead of some others on the basis he's racked up a few games for Posh this year.

Good luck to him if he's called upon. Although i think a rejigged starting 11 will still be the first option for 'Arry.

He started really well at Posh by all accounts, but has been poor in their last few games according to a Posh regular i know.

I saw Didier Zokora playing in the CL last week...

Good move. Really hope next season we give our up and coming cm/winger the opp... O'Hara, Bostock, Parrett, Livermore, Rose (wing) and save our money to buying a world class No.9

I hope the lad gets a chance, I was really impressed with him pre-season, he's shown more promise than any of our youngsters in the last year in my opinion.
