The NOTW (I know, I know) alleges today that Villa are lining up a 5 million pound bid for this guy. Surely if he's available for that sort of money we've got to be in there for him?!

He and Palacios together would give us exactly the solid foundation we need for Luka, Lenny and Keano to rip other teams a new one. Not only that, his passing ability would be amongst the best at the club so to have him spraying the ball around for the forwards would be lovely.

What do you guys think?

I think £12 million would be cheap.
I don't know where the £5 mil comes from unless he's got some buyout thing.

I think that he's not all that good—he's spent most of his time at Bayern on the bench, and has been pretty unimpressive whenever I've seen him. DP is yer man, though.

bayern munchen have bought tymoschuk and pranjic and with van bommel, demichelis and sosa still there i think they don't really need borowski anymore.

I guess that's why he was suspended for refusing to play as one when Hitzfeld was in charge.

he was always a dm, bayern munchen bought him as a dm and he has played there as a dm before they struggled with injuries in defence (van buyten, lucio). hitzfeld did convert him into a cb after that yes, but he had not planned to do so permanently.

therefore, demichelis is a dm.

i can understand that he didn't wanted to play that position anymore since they have so much competition there especially when van bommel became captain and has sealed that spot ever since.

lucio was on the way out but i think he has earned his place in the squad after his impressive confederations campaign, but demichelis still has breno and van buyten in front of him in the picking order when everybody is fit.

Surely Borowski would only go to a club challenging in Europe. Villa are, we're not.

He's not a DM, he's a box-to-box midfielder who is better in attack than defense. And he's going to probably end up back and Werder.

Haven't Werder just brought in a few midfielders there recently though?

So far they have brought in Marin and lost Diego and Baumann (two starters). They got Marcelo Moreno from Shaktar at forward. That's about it.
