This thread's a bit of an experiment. Thought we'd give this a go, if it ends up a mess we'll have a rethink!

This thread is to post who you want in/out by the end of this window.

Any and all discussion on people's choices should be done in the player threads. Link to them if you want to make things easier.

Out:
  • Eriksen - Time to move him on and free up space for the rebuild. Don't particularly care where he goes or what we get for him.
  • Rose - He's still too mistake-prone and that along with his attitude means it's time I think we called it quits
  • Aurier - We need to stop having our attacking play be dominated by a walking disaster of a defender
  • Sissoko - His injury means we won't but I'd get rid of him if it was possible.

In:
  • Cavani - This is the one I really want now that the Dybala ship has sailed. Assuming it doesn't happen, we at least need a decent option like Eze who looks gettable.
  • Aarons - There are quite a few young defenders around who are being touted for a move and we need to be snapping some of them up. Nathan Ferguson is another one but Aarons would be my target.
  • Soumare - Expecting us to sign a DM to solve all our problems is a tricky one. I've picked Soumare as our Lille contingent are familiar with him and should know what he's capable of. Bruno Fernandes would have been my top choice but again, it looks like we've missed the boat with that one.
Feel free to include your final formation/squad as well. Just leave the discussion of it for the player threads!

My squad [1st choice/Backup] would be:

Gazzaniga/Lloris

Aarons/Foyth Toby/Tanganga Sanchez/Verts Sessegnon/Davies

GLC/Lamela Winks/Dier Ndombele/Soumare

Son/Moura Alli/Fernandes

Kane/Cavani

Out

Eriksen: don’t need to argue that one.

Dier: can’t run, what’s the point of a DM that can’t move.

Rose: Legs have gone.

Wanyama: Legs have gone.

KWP: neither Poch nor Mourinho seem to want him so better to get the cash.

Lamela: not quiet good enough.

Vorm: really need a English (home grown) Keeper as 3rd choice to help our home grown squad element.

IN

Paitek: we need a striker.

Semedo: decent right back.

Soumare: like you Rob want a DM but this guy looks a bit like Dembele in playing style so maybe we can use there.

Ziyech: lovely player would make us harder to stop in attack and works hard defending as well.

Great stuff Rob, hopefully this clears up the issues of the ITK thread and sometimes player threads going off tangent.

In:
CB: Commanding presence that can play (Toby will decline after this season IMHO)
DM: Soumare
RB: Atal, Aarons, Bogle, Fegusson (Anyone)
ST: Right now I'd take almost anyone with mobility and physical presence. If there is someone out there that is young, mobile, can score and fill in on other positions all the better.

Out
Christian Eriksen
Victor Wanyama
Kyle Walker-Peters
Danny Rose
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Juan Foyth??
Michel Vorm (not needed)

In
Gedson Fernandes
Krystzof Piatek
Florentino Luis
Nathan Ferguson/Djed Spence/Jayden Bogle (because I think the Aarons ship has sailed, so let’s look at then next promising option).

Lloris
Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies
Lo Celso, Luis, Ndombele
Alli, Son
Kane

Gazzaniga
Ferguson, Sanchez, Tanganga, Sessegnon
Sissoko/Winks, Winks/Dier, Fernandes
Lamela, Moura
Piatek

Summer 2020
Aurier - Cancelo/Semedo
Dier - Soumare/Gerson
Sissoko - Eze/McNeil
Vertonghen? - Umtiti/Badiashile/Upamecano

Thats a fair investment, but freshens the squad up significantly, and I’d guess all are doable. Incorporate Clarke, Skipp, Parrott, White, Roles? Etc.

Sell: Eriksen, Rose & Wanyama
Loan Out: Foyth & KWP
In: Lo Celso, Moussa Dembele & any half decent defensive midfielder.

Lloris
Sanchez Toby Tanganga
Aurier SHINYNEWDM Ndombele Sessegnon
Dele
Kane Dembele

Subs: Gazza, Jan, Winks, Gedson, GLC, Son & Lucas
Squad: Vorm, Davies, Dier, Skipp, Sissoko, Lamela & Parrott

I would seriously consider splashing out on Dembele from Lyon and move to playing two strikers when Kane is back and rely on width from Aurier and Sessegnon. I think this would allow Dele to flourish again with a free role behind the front two, picking up anything Kane/Dembele can hold up for him.

It's a little harsh on Sonny but he's shown massive inconsistency along with Lucas.

No idea who our shiny new DM should be, I just know that we need one.

For this window and the summer:

In:
Piatek - Good age, fairly good fee, have goals in him and is prepared to put in a shift for the team. He have Harry Kane as a role model. Loan with an option preferably.
Denis Zakaria - A total beast. Can play CM, DM and CB if needed. He will be very expensive but he really is ideal for our midfield. Strong, quick, good on the ball, good in the air. He can do it all.
Ziyech - The Eriksen replacement. Scores goals and provides assist and is a team player. I think he would tear it up in the EPL.
Aarons and Semedo - New RBs is obviously needed. I'd prefer both Aarons and Semedo but one of them might be unlikely.
Koulibaly - An example of an elite CB that is needed.
Lo Celso - Make him permanent. He's going to be top class.
*Homegrown 3rd GK*
Cantwell or Grealish -
Either one of them will do tbh. I prefer Cantwell but Grealish might be more of a complete player right now.

Out:
Eriksen - No need to argue.
KWP - He will never make it here unfortunately. Hopefully he can have a decent career somewhere else though.
Dier - Not good enough anymore and can't see him turning it around. I think he need a new challenge and a new environment.
Vertonghen - Let him leave on a free this summer. Neither is he good enough anymore and we need to replace him ASAP. 32 years old (33 in April) and have lost all the pace he had left. Really poor this season overall. A bit of a modern legend so I will definitely miss him though.
Rose - I'm really sick of him and have been for a time now. Shambolic on the pitch and seem to have attitude problems off it. He feels toxic.
Wanyama - Knees seems totally gone.
Aurier - Liability even if he have slightly improved. Not the fullback we need.
Lamela - He'll be the last standing of the "Fantastic 7" that where signed with the Bale money but it's time to split up. Very injury prone, lacking basic decision making and often an end product.
Vorm - Need to replace him with a homegrown third keeper.
(I'd argue that we need to replace Sissoko soon as well.)

Squad & XI:
Lloris/Gazzaniga/*homegrown 3rd keeper*

Semedo, Aarons / Sanchez, Alderweireld, Tanganga, Koulibaly, Foyth / Davies, (Sess)

Zakaria, Gedson, Ndombele, Winks, Lo Celso, Sissoko, Skipp

Lucas, Dele, Son, Cantwell/Grealish, Ziyech, (Sess)

Kane, Piatek

Squad in the process on the 01.09.2020:

GK: Lloris, Gazzaniga, HG 3rd keeper
RB: Established player (Semedo, Pereira...), Young HG Talent (Bogle, Ferguson)
CB: Davinson Sanchez, Alderweireld, Tanganga, Vertonghen, Loan: Foyth
LB: Davies, Sessegnon, Cirkin
CM: Established player (Grealish, Neves, Tielemans, Zakaria...), Gedson, Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Loan: Skipp
RM: Lamela, Lucas, Sissoko, Loan: Clarke
LM: Son
CAM: Eze, Dele, Loan: Roles
CF: Kane, Parrott, Established player who can hold up the ball

Ideally upgrade LB, Sissoko and Vertonghen but I fear we can not have all. Maybe even the GK position will be a worry in the summer depending on Hugos comeback.

For me, the focus should be on a deeper playmaker who can play next to Tanguy and also do the working stuff. Can be a tall CDM who knows how to pass a ball as well and focus on the issue at Right Back. Including Eze who should be able to push for first team minutes that will be a financial task itself, especially most likely without CL footy.

Hopefully we already integrate a new striker this window while Kane is out and there is game time to earn.

We all know the outs so I'll leave that alone.

In:

Striker/WF - Timo Werner - contract running down. Can play on his own up top or with Kane in a front 3 with Son.
DM - Zakaria - Basically another Ndidi and would be perfect for us.
RB - Cancelo/Atal - If Jose wants to play his RB as almost a winger hybrid then these 2 would be perfect for the job
CB - Koulibaly - Would be our VVD and stabilise the defence massively.

Out:
Eriksen: Been going though the motions for months. Time here is clearly at an end.

Rose: Declining as a player and heart isn’t in it anymore. His minutes need to be given to Sess.

KWP: Just not at the level required potentially in part to being in Poch’s development limbo for so long. Needs to move for the sake of his career.

Wanyama: Injuries have done in what was potentially a spectacular player for us. A real shame. Deadwood at this stage.

Vorm: Appreciate him returning to cover but it’s just plain daft to not have your 3rd choice GK be home-grown. Needs addressing in the summer.

In:

Ziyech: Other attacking midfielders we’ve been linked to like Eze and Grealish are great ball carriers but I feel like we already have that with other players in the squad. Since Eriksen has stacked it we’ve missed his passing range and the threat he gives from range. Ziyech would offer all that we’re losing.

Laimer: Dream signing for me at defensive midfield. One of the more unsung products of the Red Bull system. Elite tackler, super mobile and young enough to sort that position for years to come. Has helped take Leipzig to a different level this season and could do same for us.

Semedo: Offers everything Aurier does without the baggage. May find himself in no mans land at Barca due to the new system Quique Setien is implementing so could find himself in need of a new club. Should be all over him if so.

Osimhen: Young, fast, powerful and clinical. Would be a great alternative/cover/partner for Kane. Added bonus of already having worked with a number of our coaching staff at Lille.

And then literally and HG goalkeeper. It’s just poor squad management not having one and we need to free a spot up in the summer.
