The possible saving grace in our attempts to secure a top four finish is that Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal are equally turdish

We are fairly crap but I do feel like we will hit form at some point of the season, enough to scrape into top 4. Utds form is dire, and Chelsea and Gooners very up and down. Leicester look good though and they may have a say in events.

I actually can’t believe Spurs supporters genuinely believed we could compete with Liveroool, delusional.

I know, imagine a supporter having a bit optimism at the start of the season having just spent over £100m on the back of a champions league final.

We're miles off them. We used to finish above them every year
Crazy isn't it, we looked so much better then them for years. And in the space of two/three seasons they now look like they are in another league along with City. It's a shame we never took the step up when we had a chance. I guess it shows what good recruitment and a world class manager can do.

And mentality.

People laugh at them for being overly giddy / arrogant / deluded.

But the fact is they really do believe they still belong at the top table. And it's why even when they were really in the dumps in the PL era they'd still pull of incredible comebacks and big wins against top sides in one off games.

The Barcelona game was a prime example. 3-0 down, no away goal and Messi turning up to Anfield. Yet they still were believing it was on. Manager and players still telling fans to not give up. It's a self fulfilling prophecy and Barcelona crumbled under the heat.

Our mentality is a lot better than it was but when the going gets tough we still have yet to prove ourselves to get over the line.

I’m not delusional but it’s September. Could we beat Southampton Brighton and Watford yes. Could Liverpool get a couple of draws Vs Leicester and United yes. The gap would be 6pts going to Anfield. Will these things happen who knows but they certainly aren’t beyond belief.

And we can see that now. Shit form for 9 months and lot of fans seems to behave like nothing happen because we were in CL final so we should be happy with that. No pressure and expectations. We are becoming Arsenal.

It’s a race to the title until we can no longer win it!

Not saying we will. But the title can change at that point.

Yes but it's also partly due to perception.

Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal have also been pretty shit in the same period so it gives a perception to some of our fans that they look at those clubs to comfort themselves and say "hey they didn't win either".

No, it really is bad. If we want to progress we need to challenge ourselves in comparison to City and Liverpool and match their results.

Well we are only 75/1 to win League still (out from 12s at start).

Teams (well one i can think of) have won it with longer odds than that at this stage of season, so bring it on.
Seriously though think there may be better value in the 1/6 odds on us winning nothing again.
